BC
Well this coming Sundays see the annual Garioch rally at Oldmeldrum pleasure park. Not a huge rally but a friendly atmposphere and one where you still get a bite to eat a plate of stovies and an oatcake for lunch. I have my 1951 International Farmall Cub entered and my father has my 1948 Ransomes MG2 crawler entered. This will be the first outing for my Cub at any shows this year so I hope the weather is kind. If it turns out to be a rainy day we will only be taking the Cub since the crawler is a nightmare to clean with the tracks and there are more brass bits on it than the cub ;)
BC
Well it rained quite a lot on Saturday and I was beginning to wonder if I would be going to the Oldmeldrum rally on Sunday. Anyway around 2 pm it stopped long enough to get the Cub out and loaded and after it was roped on down the rain came again so on the overnight cover went. Didn't hitch on the crawler but had the car ready to hitch up in the morning if conditions improved Morning came and it was dry but I decided only to take the one since there was a forcast of rain showers in the afternoon. Ready for unloading at OldMeldrum

BC
There was a bit of a disaster at the prize giving and the PA system broke as the award for the post 1951 class of tractors was being announced. Once back up and running they moved on to another class so we never found out who won that class and headed for home. Later on in the evening I got a call from Vic mathers with the 50D saying i had won it and he had taken it for me. He them offered to drop it into the engravers since he was going there to collect a trophy he had won in the commercials last year but had not got it engraved in time to get it back to the rally. he said that he would then deliver it to the winner which turned out to be the old Albion bus. Last night I got me certificate through the post. Again on the day they had computer printing problems. That the third consecutive year I have won this shield with my Cub so next year the Cub will stay at home and I will enter my Farmall A or MG2 in the pre 1951 Class. Leakeyvale
Whilst in Inverurie yesterday I collected my engraved shield ...to be proudly displayed I hope. Well done and obviously well deserved as you must have put in a lot of work making it ready for the day.
