TM190
that looks a bit more sensible for fields around me maybe not the best looking machines but if you can get it into the field without taking gates, gateposts and half the hedge with you its suits me :D
FB
lets hope there's a 1:32 one on the horizon then! ;D
Deere-est
It seems odd that Claas have made a new combine but followed lines of the early Lexions' panels
Tellarian
Claas are not stupid, In Eastern Europe, South America labour is cheap and still demand for smaller units where many older units are now becoming time expired. These have updated Senator / Dominator internals with APS, Govion is the Eastern Euro name, Elnino is SA designation.
nashmach
Steve where does the one above fit in then? Still think a farm with 600 acres that will buy a new combine would be better buying a bigger capacity second hand model and have less depreciation. Tellarian
I think what we are seeing , and Claas is anticipating, is a polarisation of combine classes. yes, a smaller operation could, in theory, buy a bigger, second hand machine, but, where in the future are those machines going to come from?? A 600 acre unit would never want the logistical nightmare of chasing and maintaining Lexy 600 - just wouldn't stack up. Combines sales have got fewer in number as size has increased. An Axial Flow 16660 of an NH 8070 will go on for a long time , but there are very few machines of this size made today. Combines have got bigger either for large farms or contractors machines. Also consider we have a maritime climate - harvest season is never guaranteed and often catchy hence we need high capacity machines to operate in short windows often in marginal conditions. East europe. SA / india have continental conditions - they can thus use lower capacity machines with cheaper labour over several days. Claas have plants in Russia, India etc and can build to serve the smaller units in that area, and, possibly supply Eastern Europe and S America with a simple machine at a reasonable price. All of the parts are proven, as is the tooling - it is a very clever redesign.
