BC
Lawrie and Symington are conducting a sale on the behalf of the late John Melloy from Perthshire. 03-Oct-2009 SALE of VINTAGE TRACTORS & MACHINERY (Including the Collection of Tractors, Spares, Literature & Models belonging to the late MR JOHN MELLOY, MURTHLY. FURTHER ENTRIES INVITED SALE TO BE HELD WITHIN FORFAR MARKET AT 10.30 A.M. The date is a bad one for me since I should really have to come into work for reviewing and approving tax bookings but I must try and avoid that and go to the sale and go to work after the sale if necessary or even on Sunday. John was a very strong enthusiast in the Scottish tractor world and a very knowledgeable man who will be sadly missed. Such a shame someone like him died so young in his early 60's with a massive stroke. John was one of the organisers of the January 2000 Millennium Power Exhibition held indoors at Ingliston Edinburgh ( highland Show Site ) and he was the one who invited me to attend with my 1941 International Farmall A. This is a sale I am really looking forward to. http://www.lawrie-and-symington.com/html/home/index.php
nashmach
I remember seeing some of his work and he was very tasty - didn't he have a Mark I Nuffield 4/65 also? I believe he had a dead original Fordson Diesel Major too.

BC
I called the auctioneer Graham who is a member on here and he was saying that they were laying out the goods until 10pm last night. He was saying some of the literature and the brochures etc were mint since John had been collecting before most people though of collecting such such. With 800 odd lots plus inputs this is going to be some sale and I do hope Graham and his team of auctioneers managed to get finished before tea time.
