INTERNATIONAL 2400

Having bought an ertl ih 2400 on ebay by chance i decided it would make a nice implement to display with my 784.this is the original crude toy,all solid metal construction,big crude pivoting holes for the tailgate and generally a carpet toy

so,i cut it apart as it was joined by solid metal,im going to fit proper belts instead.all the inner framework is now brass and the big crude tailgate pivoting hole has now been neatly modified,various parts of the old frame were cut away to modify

the sides have been cut open to allow fitment of the big sprung rams that move up and down as the bales being formed,here the main tailgate lifting rams are now fitted to a new brass frame which is pinned right through the ertl frame to give it strenght as you cant solder this metal

more,and 1 of the painted baler and the first steps of fitting the proper belts,note the pick up now modified,i spent 2 hours inserting cut pins through the plastic to make the pick up fingers,in pic 1 the thick brass tube is the roller for the belt to work on

few more,the baler is now complete and awaiting decals,the rubber belt at back has been fitted and it looks excellent on the 784,i am planning to include it in my moira display but ill post more pictures when i get the decals..ive quite a few new models now to display at moira including a new forager and tractor.....ill probably be giving the same treatment to a MF1450 baler soon,adding proper belts and a ram.....
