Britains Goose Neck Dump Trailer

Is the metal chassis for this trailer, hollow or solid ?

Someone must have cut one up at sometime.

I take it you mean the Shawnee Poole type dump trailer??? ive never cut one up but from what i can remember of them i reckon it would be solid.

I think this was one of the best trailers Britains have ever made, it was well built, accurate and functionable.

I actually used  a Shawnee Poole dump trailer rigged up to a Muir Hill 101 when i worked for a drainage contractor....happy times!!!!!

Got one in the shed for work but built the western instead but will pop out and check it when I get home from work

right just checked, its in two halfs, at the front, where the lever is for tipping through to the point the linkage fits , then going backwards  where it splits to the a frame chassis, its a solid arm to the wheel point

Thanks for that. I keep coming across these trailers with broken hitches for sale for a couple of quid. I was thinking about cutting the goose neck of at its base and grafting on a normal draw bar. This will be a lot easier if the chassis is hollow.
