BC
Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd of August 2010 see the 38th Deeside Steam and Vintage Vehicle Club rally take places at the Milton of Crathes which is only 5 miles up the road from me. I have entered my 1957 Nuffield DM 4 and mu 1941 International Farmall A. I must get the A out of the shed over the weekend. I will give both plugs and points a clean since over a year since she was last started. Will get a run up the hill road weather permitting. I'm on holiday the week after next so hope to get the Nuffield dug out too. I 'm too late now to get the really old battery casing circa 1978 melted out and get two 12 volt batteries in them. I know for a fact the 2 6 volts one I have one is good and the other is not. the one I have at home charges up but them loses it overnight. The other one which is on my French Cub t Kemnay was good or well was for all of the BA working weekend. it I can boost the two 6 volts with jump leads to a good 12 volt battery then fine but if not see will stay at home for another year. I'm certainly not going to buy 2 volt batteries. The last time I did was a good few year back and they were £ 179 for the two after a 33 1/3 % discount. BC
Well after felling a bit "huffy" about "Nuffy" not starting I decided to go up to the show at Milton of Crathes to see what was there. A cracking day and got a few shots as I always tend to do ;) All photos are in the order taken 1967 Nufffield Bray 10/

catkom3
Some very interesting pictures there Bill,'specially that " unusual digger " on the E27N,that is in fact one of the first Whitlock "Dinkum Diggers", anybody remember them, the started in 1952,strange that it's mounted on an E27N when earlier models were mounted on Fordson Majors, here's a photo, and an excerpt from one of my earthmover books Whitlock's “Dinkum Digger†was developed in 1952,fast becoming the leading multi-purpose earthmoving machine in the industry,Based on a Fordson tractor, and of particularly robust design,it was,in fact, the first tractor mounted hydraulic excavator to be seen in the United Kingdom. The machine shown here was not the very first “Dinkum Diggerâ€,but was an early example of the range, being produced in 1953. Regards Joe. Yes it's a Dinkum right enough Joe.It is owned by MacIntosh Plant Hire of Echt and I got more details about it today from the display board they had on it.I agree strange for it to be fitted to the E27N which first came out in 1948 but a nice exhibit non the less ;)
