ah well onto other news, still no seed potatoes arriving but we are having them in bulk this year not boxes and so have got conveyor belts fitted to the back of 2x14 ton trailers for loading the planters.

the contractor has had some lime spreading done on his dairy farm (fendt 718 with KRM spreader) and has purchased a new holland TM140 04 plate and a new JCB 540.1 60plate telescopic loader, ill get pics of the loader when i can.

started the potato plant on tuesday and weve already had some mishaps

one of the trailer got tipped to farm and the rear mounted conveyor bent all the back of the planter

one of the destoning boys drove into the back of one of the liquid fert tanks and broke the pump and didnt tell anybody so weve also lost some liquid fert aswell as having to buy a new pump and spend time repairing that aswell.

other than that there is plenty of kit down here and we are all having a good time

great updates jordan , i am sure i have seen that fendt and krm spreader on the a5 a couple of times in the last week

you probably have rich, it was near college the other day, theyve been quite busy while its been dry

Great pictures Jordan  ;D  Does the farm have a specific tractor buying policy or do they buy what suits their needs the most?

we mainly buy what suits our need but as you can see in some of the photos some of the john deere 6930's are contractors as we calnt afford to buy and run all the tractors we need.

Do you put the drivers on the contractors machines? so they are bascially hire machines?

yes and no, we try to et enough drivers but its simple if you use the contractors own men if they know what there doing  ::)

Is it hard to get good tattie men? never had anything to do with them personally so im always willing to learn from people who have

nice update what are you doing with the potato planting

well we are planting potatoes, my main roll is working on the factory site emptying the stores and loading the walkers lorries as the boss is busy with the plant now, but i have been hauling the liquid fert tanks to and from the fields when we have been working and not repairing damaged machinery
