thomas b Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Many people use Papiermache , And some use pre built hills Quote
Lady Ferguson Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I recommend plaster cloth (the same as railway modellers use) - it's really easy to use and gives you a good solid hill. All you need to do is scrunch up newspaper to make the shape and height of hill you need. Cut the plaster cloth into strips, dip it in water and then lay it over the newspaper. It dries over night and is ready to paint the next day. It can also be used to make tracks, ruts and puddles and I always make my field bases up with so that you don't just get a flat field Quote
Tractorman810 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 if you want bigger fields on a hill, i would use the white pollystyren boards you see used as wall insulation as a base, just cut and build it up to what ever height you want , then finish the surface of with the stuff mandys recomemded, i use a thin version to give shallow rolling hills/ surface levels on my layout and add depth for the drainage ditches Quote
