Fendt Fahrer
I can't get over the amount of detail you squeeze into 1/64. Great layout. can only second that!!
Luke (DeWitt)
Well it has been too long since my last update so i thought I would add a few pictures that I took. Things have been busy around the farm, we traded the 8300 John Deere in on a new 7280R. It is really a nice pairing to our Oxbo hay merger. The farms new Silage truck also showed up in time this years harvest.
Luke (DeWitt)
Our neighbor stopped one day with his mixer wagon to pick up some feed as he was short on corn silage this past year. His brother then pulled in with their International 1456 with our old John Deere v spreader we sold them a few years ago. Busy time spreading manure back in the spring, a local contractor even stooped in to help us for a few days as we are waiting on our new manure nurse tank. Time to get rolling with second cutting, the Claas and new silage truck are seen waiting to get rolling
Luke (DeWitt)
Well it has been some time since my last journal so I thought it was finally time. Not too much has been going on around the farm, mainly hauling manure. We do have a new barn going up that you can see in the back ground of some of the pictures. Forgive the cardboard background in some of the pictures, I am still working on backdrops and the easiest thing I had was a box. Here is a shot from last years corn silage. Working on one of the disc rippers The farm decided it was finally time to trade in our two 850 bu. Frontier grain carts in on a new 1300 bu. Kinze cart. It will be nice to have only one tractor burning fuel vs. two tractors. The new cart holds slightly less grain than the two Frontiers but they were over due and we feel as though one bigger cart can keep up.If needed we may opt to rent a second cart if we get into some really good yields. We bought it from out local John Deere dealer, they brought it down with a Massey Ferguson they recently got in on trade. We offered to help haul one of the old carts back with our service truck. Luke (DeWitt)
Our NH dealer once again demoed a tractor for us. They know we bleed green but they really wanted us to try out a new T8 series. They guys were more than happy to take the John Deere 8430 off the Husky spreader and ride in something a little more comfortable. We were impressed, considering that it may spend most of its time on that spreader and perhaps some light tillage work it may be a cost effective replacement for the aging 8430. Here is a quick shot of the 12 row Kinze planter. We were getting it checked over before planting season.

Luke (DeWitt)
Thank you for the comments, it sure is fun to see how much detail I can add. I forgot to add pictures of the dairy barn I am detailing right now, perhaps tomorrow.
Luke (DeWitt)
Well it has been some time since my last journal so I though I would fill some free time by writing an update on the latest happenings around the model farm. We had a late spring this year and as a result had to push the limits on our tillage crew. Here we see the new Sunflower chisel plow the replaces the farm old John Deere. We also upgraded our 12 row Kinze corn planter to a 16 row planter. Here the New Holland T 8.390 heads out with a set of disks and crumbler. While we are a John Deere farm it is more cost effective to lease the New Holland as its main job for the rest of the year is to run the manure spreader keeping the manure pit at our sick barn cleaned out as it only has a two week storage capacity. The T 8.390's lease is almost up and we are looking at a Case 380 or Versatile 310 as a possible replacement. We also bought a new Meyers 8586 manure spreader this spring to spread pen pack manure. It spreads the pen pack much faster than the farms Kuhn slingers and has a healthy capacity to help with cleaning solids out of the lagoon. The farm also runs two other Kuhn slingers. Here some of the fleet is fueling up as we wrap up third cutting haylage with the FR 9090, after that it will join the Claas 900 that started in on corn silage. Luke (DeWitt)
Here the 7930 is merging hay before the FR 9090 shows up Here the 7280R is making quick work of what third cutting there is left to cut by an old farmstead we bought last fall. We plan on cleaning up the property this fall if we get time. Here we see the corn silage crew is right next to the hay crew, it wont be long before both teams are working on corn silage as we have many acres to cover. Luke (DeWitt)
Finally we see the corn silage crew hard at work. If all goes well we should be done by the end of the month and then high moisture corn begins.
