BC
Looking at the weather forecast me thinks the Duke of Argyll's and yellow waterproof's will be the order of the day for Charlie's sale if the BBC have got it right....and oh I had better sharpen some pencils as well if I want to note sale prices since well biro ink does not bode well on wet paper http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ab31

BC
Me too Mark and I'm even tempted to have a bid on it but don't have a shed (as yet to store it) . Charlie was actually left that tractor and the Manitou and the nice Ford in the shed in the will of the late Owen Bremner who had a market garden at Mains of Drum. Charlie used to do a lot of work for him but he was always a slow payer and used to say to Charlie he could earn more from a small packet of seed than Charlie could planting acres of barley, tattie and neeps. The said late Mr Bremner started growing greenhouse's of cannabis at Drum Castle but despite pleading it was for own use he was accused and locked up for a couple of years.Owen got nicknamed "Pot Botham" since Mr Ian the cricketer was exposed around the same time. Anyway I'm looking forward to the sale and I might even just walk down the Deeside way to it to save having to wash more dubs from the A4 since I'm planning a visit to spectate at a ploughing match near Banff and MacDuff on Sunday and the forecast is light rain so I expect my car will get dirty again since invariable these matches are held on stubble parks and not ley grass
BC
It was a wet one but loads of folk at it and well I managed to get in and out of the stubble park and relocate some soil home to me....anyway the main results...to follow later

BC
Its sad to say but some of the older implements would have made more in scrap and me thinks that is what a certain buyer was doing but then again it was a public auction. BC
Although there was not heavy rain at the sale it had rained continually through Friday night and early Saturday morning but I think that help boost number attending the sale. Charlie must have forgotten about his old land leveller or maybe he is keeping it since he still has one field and half of which is sow in winter corn. BC
There were some inputs at the sale but I missed the prices of these small engines but I suspect prices would not have set the heather on fire.
