tractorboyjules1977
time to get the sprayer out this morning to go and burn off 150 acres of stubble ,just half way through and the clouds decided to relieve themselves for the rest of the day , so plan b was put into action and we decided to put the stubble cultivaters into a 35 acre block of stubble and to put the plough into another 27 acre block , got to try and keep the wheels turning !

tractorboyjules1977
potato digging well under way and the first field of 10 acres cleared and cultivated ,the first load leaves the yard ready to head on up to branstons , weve got a new toy a valtra to replace the 936 , we didn't need all that horsepower and the size and especially with all the maize hauling the boys have to do in a week or so time , also got a good deal with plenty of change in the pocket !!! , the valtras first job drilling grass seed hopefully she"l perform well , also well into cultivating and only another 175 acres left on farm to do then another 450 acres on customers farms to do , happy days , the jobs just keep on rolling in

tractorboyjules1977
all the maize around the farm all now cut 175 acres cleared and safely into the pit , now both foragers off out on the road and the first time out and the fendt is performing well , a bit tight getting round the lanes but we can cope with that ,all trailers out and were fast running out of tractors and trailers even got the old 7810 out on trailer bashing duties , mite need to call in alex at Oakley and stew Elliott to see if they can spare a few days , mite even have to make a few phone calls to get some demo kit in ,
tractorboyjules1977
nearing the end of the working week and with a skeleton crew back around the farm keeping things ticking over while all the lads are out on maize harvest , were thankfully into the last 10 acre field of spuds , a good job nearing completion and a chance to crack on with some wheat drilling after the wknd ,

F8N
just looked through your thread, some great machinery you have there...was thinking of getting one of those vaderstad cultivators...whats your opinion on it? also which is your preference on the dung spreaders...dangreville or pichon?
tractorboyjules1977
depends on wether you prefer a mounted cultivator or a trailed one really , ive got rid of the vaderstad trailed one now and just have a couple mounted ones , a bit more easier to get around all our country lanes , as to the spreaders depends how much you want to spend , ive got 2 triathlons there pretty good ,and the dangreville is a bit larger but a good machine , I hope that's helped a bit gary
tractorboyjules1977
rain stopped play today as far as the maize harvesting is going , 120 acre block at stockbridge mostly hanging in puddles of water , the unsuspecting weather gave us a chance to grade the last 2 loads of spuds and a chance to wash off and pack away the spud digger , also weve just taken delivery of a new kverneland 5 furrow , shame we couldn't try her today , but theres always tomorrow
