Tommy Gough
Our 7070 has had a problem with it's suspension as well but was sorted on the house by the dealer even though it's out of warranty. The problem probably could have been sorted but the dealers didn't seem to like taking a look at it, even within the warranty period. I think the 7050 went in for it, had a bodge job done and had to go back for it again a couple of weeks later. I did have some muckspreading pictures to sort through and upload which I thought I may get done over the bank holiday but actually off chopping grass in a couple of hours so they can wait and be put up when I get some grass pictures. If the weather forecast is right we may be rained off by Tuesday anyway.
fendt-the deere killer
Not too far from Stroud by the looks of it on Google. Don't really know my way around there very well but the airfield is straight off the A419 if that helps anyone locate it. Not too sure about the burger van either as we didn't use the main airfield main gate to keep the tractors out of the way of the lorries and etc coming and going all day. We also did some for Robert Cooper which is another name I guess you may know. ha ha! robert cooper is the other half of A4 farmers, they have ground at west overton and wilsford as well
Tommy Gough
We actually had their forage wagon come and do some 1st cut for use, probably 8-10 years ago. Dad knew Robert cooper from a while ago as well. Small world isn't it.
Tommy Gough
Finally got some more pictures sorted and onto photobucket. Also ended up with some free time today so thought better get them on here. First off we have some pics from muckspreading in, I think, March. The majority of the time there were two spreaders, both 10 ton Richard Western rear discharge, and a hired in jcb loader. Another spreader borrowed for this farm due to the consistency of the material to be spread Whoops (not me)
Tommy Gough
The last farm I went to around the middle of April were milking a big number of cows and hadn't emptied their pit since last year so along with me and the other spreader there were at least 3 other spreaders from another contractor working most days. The other contractor also provided the loader, a jcb 414s. Despite having at least 5 spreaders running it still took us 6 days to empty the pit. This picture was on the second day after finally getting rid of enough material to be able to back the spreaders down into the lagoon. The loader then found quite a large pocket of water (as you can probably tell) Can't see very well but bit of a tricky reverse (the building opposite is closer than it looks) The bane of the spreader drivers' lives on the last couple of days One of the sheds the cows are housed in. Tommy Gough
Now on to the first bit of grass. Bit of a mix of tractors. I'm in a Fendt 720 that should have featured in some of the pictures earlier in the thread. The NH T7040 & 7050 were sold before the season started but the replacements hadn't arrived so a MF6495 and a 7620 were on loan from listers are the tractors in this picture Looking through the dirty window towards Wales A nice 2 hour round trip for the first haul of the year so had some extra trailers on. This was the farmer in his JD6920s with loader and SW Hire Richard Western trailer
Tommy Gough
The next day I was moved from the Fendt to the 6495 As the 720 was needed on clamp rolling duties with one of these http://kelvincave.com/forage/clamp-management/better-compaction-better-silage Nice bit of sunshine Due to lack of tractors we had a tractor and driver help out. The tractor is one of the last old style 820 Fendts.
Tommy Gough
Heavy rain overnight but that didn't seem to stop us (didn't make for the best silage but it's the farmers choice in the end) Bit of a break after this farm which allowed all of the new tractors to arrive so the majority of the pictures will now feature Fendts. Think this was some lucerne we chopped Bit of night work ( not brilliant as I didn't realise the flash was on)

toyboy
What happened to the Claas mowers, did something get a bit warm?
Tommy Gough
Good update there sir. Cheers Ol. Should have some more in the next day or 2. What happened to the Claas mowers, did something get a bit warm? Yeah, just slightly warm ha ha!. Think it was decided the problem was caused by a bearing collapsing somewhere in the gearbox and not being noticed until the flames made an appearance. Just noticed in time to unhook the tractor or it could have looked a lot worse.
