Tommy Gough
Well hello again everyone. Not been overly active on here in the past year or so after finishing college and heading into the world of work, but at a bit of a quiet period at the minute so got some pictures sorted and uploaded to pb for you fellow tractor fans to have a glance through if the urge takes you. I have tried to upload them to pb in time order so the first batch of pictures are from my summer job on an arable farm. Driving pheasants First tractor driving job was a bit of topping Not many days later the combining started
Tommy Gough
Change in weather led to some more topping and a bigger tractor for the job Tipping some grain into the old beef shed fresh out of the drier As seen here
Tommy Gough
Took this to try and show the angle of the slop but didn't show up very well but at least it's proof we get some sun in the uk Bit of cultivating Whilst I was cultivating the combine was rolling through the OSR. Due to the lower yield and the close proximity of the fields to the yard only one trailer was needed for most of it but I did haul some from the further away fields so I did get a chance for photos

Tommy Gough
Another day of showery weather and back on topping. Here I was having to top the flattened OSR in the tramlines as it was getting caught and wrapped around the cultivator legs Weather cleared later in the day

Not as many videos as I would have liked but got a couple of short ones. Can't link them very we'll from my iPad but if you search 4everfarmin on YouTube you should be able to find them. Tommy Gough
Just noticed I never posted the list of machinery: Claas lexion 750 Claas axion 850 NH T7040 sidewinder (my regular tractor) NH TL90 JCB 531-70 The MF was a neighbouring farmer and the NH on the baler was arranged by the straw buyer. Also had a couple of different JDs on balers as well but no pictures. This was probably also as close to meeting royalty as I will get, with the farm being owned by Zara Philips' father. Deere-est
Love the 70 series on the baler, who's is that might I ask? The Massey is a handsome bit of kit too, I know nothing about them whatsoever but in a proper lady way - they look nice. Looks like you have had a nice placement here, Tommy. Being on the Cotswold Brash I dare say you are not far from home. I am thinking Kemble Farms, or a little further up and around the airfield near Stroud? Being on the Cotswold Brash I dare say you are not far from home. I am thinking Kemble Farms, or a little further up and around the airfield near Stroud? I'm afraid I don't know who's the 70 series belongs to, all I know is that it was the same number as the MF, an 8670. The Massey is a nice looking bit of kit, I'll agree. Always did like the Masseys though so could be a bit bias, although not had much to do with the latest models (quite like the 700 series Fendts now). Not too far from Kemble either, good guess. Based around an airfield know as Aston downs just on the edge of a village called Cherington. Also neighbouring Gatcombe park.

Tommy Gough
Smashing update, looks a really nice place to spend the harvest. Cheers Ol. It really was a nice place to be working. Great pics them masseys look the job , whats the size of the farm youre working on ????? Cheers Jon. Wished I could have stopped for a bit longer to get some better arranged pictures of the MF but oh well. The farm was about 1700 acres overall. Think about 1500 was into combinable crops. What was the New Holland like - did it behave itself? It did behave actually Ol. Very low hours on it and no abusive drivers before me seemed to prevent any problems. Drove another after combining (pictures soon) that was a year younger but had been doing long hours for a contractor and that was a bit more troublesome (and bumpy). Tommy Gough
Towards the end of September my time at Aston Farms came to and end. As luck would have it my uncle was speaking to a contractor friend of his who happened o mention he was after a trailer driver from maize. I gave him a call and the next day I found myself driving another NH T7040, this time chasing a Claas Jaguar 950 and Orbis 900 with a Richard Western SF14 trailer. These pictures will mostly have been taken on my phone, so not such good quality.
