powerrabbit
It was announced late this afternoon that the Devon County Show held over the three days 22, 23 and 24 May has been cancelled for tomorrow 'for the publics safety'. It's been so wet that the site and the car parks are nothing but big sticky bogs so they're covering themselves if anyone prangs their vehicles on the site. Apparently yesterday and today, by 10.00am traffic tailbacks of stationary traffic on its way to the show were in two directions 12 miles long. The show should have been last week but they delayed it a week to draw more people to it being a Bank Holiday weekend, last week we were baking in 23C temperatures without a cloud in the sky. BC
The weather can make or break these shows Tim and always a difficult choice for the organisers.
powerrabbit
It was even on the National news earlier this morning, interviewed by the local TV news last evening the organiser was asked if the traders would get any compensation for it being cut by a day, she said that 'negotiations were on-going but they've had two good days'. So that means NO!
CMB
Well it seems to be going ahead this year despite some torrential rain.
