Trailed Potato Harvester

Recommended Posts

I bought this machine for 50p at a Christmas Market a while back. I know it's a potato/beet/carrot harvester but i don't know what brand of a machine it is in real life. I've spent a good 2 hours rummaging around Google and haven't found anything so I'd be very grateful of any ideas.  It's clear that I'm  going to have to add an extra unloading belt as there are marks from where the other one broke off. Also I was wondering would it pass as 1:32? There are no details on the bottom of it saying what brand of toy it is (it doesn't even say made in china). I've little experience with harvesters of this  type but I'd like to get this one functional again and hopefully more detailed.

They’re based on a Grimme potato harvester from the late 70’s/early 80’s but can’t remember what the name of the machine was now.

Thanks Gav. Just looked it up and found the Europa model:

Worked at this yesterday and I managed to get a conveyor onto it. I know the original real life machine didn't have one but I need it to fill into a kane 16t trailer so here's what I came up with:

I've still to add a few details yet. 20190104_185807.thumb.jpg.6cfd842ab23fd637dbb89703c1ac1e09.jpg

Like it. Got one in my bits box, hadn't decided what to do with it yet. Maybe something similar ?

Regards Dave

Yeah I'd recommend doing something like this, I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Only thing I didn't mention was that I had to put a counterweight on the left of the machine because of the weight of the conveyor. Just bear that in mind if you decide to put a conveyor etc on it.
