NewHolland2
Lovely grass up on the hills, Mart. Cattle look great, hoe do you find the cattle work, enjoy it or kind of put up with it? I love and missing working with sucklers. The grass has certainly came on well this year Tris and the re-seeded hay field looks like it should give a good crop........ I do like the cattle side of things too, always think there is great satisfaction watching them get out of the livestock float onto the hill after being housed all winter........ Nice view there Mart.. whereabouts are you? In Angus in Scotland mate........

Deere-est
What kind of stone do you have up that way then, Mart? Seems like a wasted oppurtunity if you don't hire a crusher in to do this job. A great idea for this farmer to utilise it all. Glad you like the livestock side of the job, wish I did more.

Stones are a mixture of sandstone and granite with some parts having more volcanic rocks as far as I know Tris........
NewHolland2
Got the wrapper out of it's hibernation today........ Clearance doesn't let my tractor in so, improvisation is always in order........ Now for a service and a wash down of the tractor and wrapper........ And the 6480 sitting at lunch with the mower........
Tractorman810
nice shots mart, i take it the 6480 and 3095 are the 2 main tractors on the farm, how many does the boss actually run in daily use then?

Cheers Sean........ Yep, the 3095 and the 6480 are the only two "big" tractors, those two and the Merlo see the most work........ All the others have their own "specialist" jobs, the 175 on the bruiser all the time, the 165 on the bedder all the time and the 698 on the cement mixer........Hoping to give the 675 a blast over the summer on hay turning or carting grain........ 3095's getting it's electrics looked at tomorrow so hopefully will have worklights again........ rich.new holland
Yeah tried that mate, that's what we thought it might have been too........ \ that happened with our 3095, front and back work light were working perfectly until one night wrappin and they both went ,we swithed it with the flasher switch and they both worked so we ordered new switches and it was right up untill it rolled :'(
NewHolland2
Got started to the silage on Monday afternoon and got around 8 acres baled and wrapped before we got rained off........Had a good day yesterday though getting two and a half fields finished up........ Only one disaster, my driver's door glass, which has been loose finally gave up the ghost yesterday but thankfully when it fell out I was able to hold on to it so is still in one piece awaiting refitting........ :'( :'(
pistol pete
do you cart the bales back to the farm and rap them there. we cart them back to one of the farms where they are going to used for the cattle and rap them there less damage to the rap. down side is there are normaly about 6 people involved

How did it smash Mart? \ The fixings which hold the glass to the door have been broken for a while, Reekie riveted on a couple of holders along the bottom and that helped keep the glass in place for a while but it obviously had had enough yesterday, hopefully be able to re-fit the pane though since it isn't smashed up........
