  1. Once again, nice to see you back!!! Take it easy and don't over do it!!! Oh, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get that JF Forage Harvester in the silage pics, its looks excellent! cheers Noel
  2. it cost a bloomin fortune to make ice for the bulk tanks we had on the farm. The farmer that i worked for had his own well, got the water tested and then piped to the parlour, then we fitted a big round stainless steel tank on the wall which had a massive coil pipe which the cold well water went through, the milk then ran through it, as and when each cow was milked and that cooled the milk a good bit, reducing the amount of time the bulk tank was going don't know the exact specifics, but it worked well!!! post up some pics of your parlour, before and after the refurb. Noel
  3. job well done!!! looks a goodun! What size of parlour do you have and how long does it take to milk the 80? sorry, just being nosey ha ha!
  4. a FULLY AUTOMATIC SYSTEM, ahhhh that would be a dream!!! I worked on a dairy farm that milked about 120 cows twice daily, i was so happy to see the new automatic cluster removal system put it, redcued work load! im just trying to imagine a fully automatic system.... anyway we milked six cows each side but could milk all 12 at once! Managed to get a milking done in 90 min's including washing parlour! i though that was not too bad back then, about 10 years ago! How times change!!!

  8. A TW25 (i think) with a Mengele harvester filling into a Kane 14 Tone Trailer which was pulled by a JD 6820 Was on fairly steep ground and the harvester was struggling a bit, even though the silage was well wilted! I only seen them front on, so not 100% sure if it was a TW25, but looked like it! could have watched it all day ha ha!, cars were behind me and was no where to park

It has been raining on and off for the last 3 days now, luckily enough i live quite literally on a side of a mountain so it would take a good bit of water to flood me out, though i do feel sorry for the people around Belfast, a lot have lost everything and a good few have no insurance!!!
