  1. My granddaughters made this cushion for my mate Eric ,you see the story goes like this Eric not got a lot of feeling in his fingers arms following having a stroke, he has several bird-feeders/tables out side his living room window and often sit there watching but he noticed a rat was coming up to get the food so he got out his 22 airgun and sat there waiting with the window open and when the rat appeared he slowly raised the gun putting his finger on the trigger remember he has not a lot of feeling in fingers yes as he raised the gun it went off he now has a hole in the back of his settee ,Eric loves watching DADS ARMY on the telly so my granddaughters made him a dads army cushion to put over the hole , and a good laugh was had by all
  2. spent part of sunday spraying the winter beans for insect control and the sugar beet for broad-leaved weed control
  3. a few more pictures of the site and the area around it , each beam weighs 1.3tonnes which I picked up from a coded welding company and took back to my farm and cleaned them up and then gave them 2 coats of red-oxide paint then reloaded on trailer for delivery to site they are 9 meters long and are to support a sound-proof concrete floor for a flat above the function room , the 5 beams with the angles welded on the sides come out at £6500 + vat then they have to add on my cost of work (bit more model money) and one or 2 other costs the crane was £500 for 1hr on site was quoted £1200 by another company so think we got a good deal on that one , my mates at barking forge have to make 3 steel staircases and some railing to complete the job over the next few weeks which depending on my work situation I may spray up for them and go on site and help fit
  4. Been a bit of a easy day today as just had to drive my tractor and trailer with these beams on to site then stand back and watch as the crane took over the other machines was on site as they are building a function room at the local golf-range / fishing lakes with on site café that do a good all-day breakfast (which they say is good ) cant admit to having one as supposed to be losing weight haha

Went 4 miles down the road to pick up this steel for my mates at Barking Forge then when back in my yard I am unloading it as I took on the job of rubbing it down and painting it with red oxide at this moment I don't now what they are for but I now were they are going so will find out , the hole lot weigh just over 6 ton each one is 9 meters long so as you can see I had to be carful on corners as it swung out a bit
  15. When you say turf trigger what is it as turf to me is a length of grass rolled up to be re-laid , is it peat dug out by hand dried then used instead of wood on your fire
  16. A few weeks back I posted some pictures of some concreting I had done at my mates workplace , well I have been back and built them there smoking shelter that they require for there workers as to the plans drawn up by the MD of the company , it will be hot inside it on the hot days but b##### cold standing inside it on the other days by law it has to be only 50% covered in so 50% airflow
  17. Yes have for past year been looking at telehandler option , I often borrow/hire one of my mate at harvest time . I still need the 3 tractors as the 2 big one do most of the main work then 4240 does the odd jobs as plenty big enough for bags of fertilizer etc , I have Mr Goodwin working on it so watch this space
  18. It would be the next one to look at its a handy little tractor as I can get under the low bridge down at Needham Market when I have to go and cut the hay on the other side its a 40 min drive round but on the loader side it don't go high enough to lift over lorries for loading grain got buy up till now but it is something we are looking into
