From my experience no.. unless you are stoped and then they normally as a few questions nothing major if you are nice and chatty
and heads up if you are out on the town the nite before and you are asked for id . make sure you wipe it after as bouncers can leave traces of drugs on it! and when costoms scan your id it shows up and the sniffer dog distroys your car in hairs!
hapend to me. their were traces of xetacy on my licence and iv never even seen drugs first hand!
Ha ha cheers for the info - can't see me and Damian going many places that have bouncers though!

We have booked to go to the Modelmania show in Ireland in October. Does anybody know if I need to produce any paperwork for customs for Damians diorama. I've had a look on the HMC & E website and it was just too confusing. Help anyone please?
Cheers

Just spoke to Kevin and got a table booked - lets just hope its a good crossing!

It was a good show, especially for a first time, I'm just glad that the displays were in the room with proper air conditioning - you lot in the traders room were definitely looking a bit flushed with the heat !! As always, it was good to meet up with everybody again. Glad you lads liked the Yorkshire Stand Pies - it's just a shame there isn't a model show in Skipton then you could taste them straight from the shop 'cos they really are something then !

We have just heard today that my 16 year old son has got into the Army. He enlists into The Yorkshire Regiment at the Army Foundation College in September. Really pleased for him, it has taken a lot of hard work and commitment to reach the physical standard that they required, and also it means that he has a well paid job to go to in September so he won't end up on the dole. Well done to him eh!

Thanks for the messages...the birthdays just seem to come round quicker these days!

........STOP PRESS.........
I have just been speaking to Harold, and he gave me a bit more of a list of who's trading at Birmingham:
G & M
AT&C
Bruce Rollinson
Martyn Reeves
R Fowler - plant
DBP Models
3 Oaks
M Wilson
DMB Models
G Evans - plant
S Bates
Dads Tractors
George Poole
Ken Davies
ScaleDown
Squires Tools
Oranda Design
UTS
This list isn't complete, it's what he could remember off the top of his head. There is about thirty traders and twenty displays. So it should be a good day out , and well worth a visit.

Just thought I would have a go at making a Nuffield 460 4-wheel drive. It's a conversion from a standard ScaleDown kit that I worked on using pictures from various books.
-
Tris..No there isn't a website or anything for Harolds shows - he just doesn't do computers. If anybody wants his number just drop me a pm and I'll let you have it.
-
Hi Bill.. I have just spoken to Harold and yes it's confirmed as Sunday 21st November this year.

Got home safe and well after a dammed good weekend. This years show was excellent, certainly the best for a few years, obviously because the ftf team were on board this year! Well done to Andy, Mark, Tris and Sean for putting on a great display that did a good job of showing what the forum is all about. It was good, as always, to meet up with other members, and also to see the displays belonging to them and other people as well. There were fantastic exhibits throughout the show, and it's just getting better every year. One last comment - Marky, who ate all the pies?
-
Very very nice , & the weathering brings it almost to life .
thanks toolbox tam thought it was about time to have a go with the airbrush i got at lanark last year . not as easy as dan makes it look but i'm fairly happy with it .
-
Thanks for the comments folks.
John, you're right they're not cheap but they are a good model, and they do the old British models, which is what I wanted.
-
what a cracking job you have done damian,i should think you enjoyed building it as you said before you enjoyed timber equipment are these all the eyes that you got at toytrac and you said you had a project you was going to do
Yep they're the ones Graham..
-
Its from an Accurate Armour gun tractor resin kit, but to be honest I only used their cab, wheels and part of the chassis (which was twisted by the way!!) the rest of it is scratch built. Its in 1:35 scale, but it looks fine next to everything else.

What have you been doing or plan on doing today?

Well I could have posted this on a few threads 'cos it made us very sad and very happy and very proud all at the same time....16yr old son joined the Army today at AFC Harrogate. It was very traumatic when it got to the point where the sergeant major said soldiers out that way and parents stay where you are. Literally not a dry eye in the house - and there was a lot of eyes cos todays intake was 800 !! He's in the Yorkshire Regiment of course..
We are both so proud of him...
