Update
Second cut silage has now been finished and now onto round bale silage. A local contractor comes and does the bales and my dad then stacks them in the field.
Firstly a few pictures of second cut silage.

Look at the photo on the Claas shop site; its not the best, but it shows the combine towing the header
http://www.claas-shop.com/shop/control/product/~category_id=m4:9240/~product_id=0002565320
Superb!!! Thanks very much for that matey..

Has anybody have any information as to if the header comes of or not, seams a bit daft to me to make the header trailer if the header cant be removed. Ill still buy it anyway though...

Is thisthe magazine, just picked it up from my local newsagents. Quite an interesting read to be honest.

Massey Ferguson 550, currently the scraper tractor where my dad works.
-
May not be as cheap as you think by the time all the haggling is finished
What are they thinking of trading in for the new one
Probably the 398 mate. The 399 will then go on the mower and the new one? will then be the main tractor.
-
In my opinion the ts is to big size wise for the horse power it is, where as the 5455 is just right. A new mf (looking on the internet) is cheeper to buy than the two year old Ts ( I know there not called ts any more but I dont get newhollands new number systems).
-
some lovley pics of the older mf's there mate, why the swap of brand for the new demo tractor then?? seems your father has a love of the masseys with all that stuff already there?
Who knows? May be there might be a Mf 5455 on demo one day

Last 2. Found these pics from grassland.
Firstly, Overkill or what

A few more of the ts taken on my sisters camera phone.
-
Christ you lot give me chance!!!!. I forgot it was in the first pics.

A few more pics to finish this topic off. I went to the farm after work to see the new tractor that they had on demo from the local dealer, you will see what it is in the pics later on. The rest of the pics are just general pics from around the farm.

great pics just love your fleet
you think your 550 is a banger look at this
That really upsets me to see a tractor like that, Banger was the first tractor that I ever drove so I have fond memories of her.
-
Fantastic pics of some great kit. I just don't know how the kit has managed to stay so good. Tractors are 20 to 30years old and immaculate, a credit to the owner and drivers.
Can we have some vital statistics, how many acres etc?
Yeah, no probs
The Farm
All dairy cattle
300 acres
150 milkers + others
The Tractor Fleet
Mf 399 - Chopping, muck spreading, ploughing, bailing
Mf 398 - Mowing and general work
Mf 390 - Loader work with mf loader
Mf 390 - General farm work
Mf 550 (aka banger) - Scraper tractor
Manitou - Feeding silage, bale carting etc

Brilliant, just brrrrrrrrrilliant. I love the buildings, the machines. .. even the pride shines through on how well the clamp looks.
So who's who then and what jobs do they do?
By the way, that digger is actually pronounce Sack-a-sh!tty :D My mate works for a plant hire company and that's what they call'em just for a laugh.
In the pics my dad is on the buckrake, the cowman usually buckrakes but my dad had just finished on the chopper and he cam to give a hand while the others started to sheet up.

Over the weekend I was helping a mate do a little bit of ground work. We used a mini digger (not that I thought it was very mini) and he borrowed his cousins tractor to cart away the soil and for once the tractor wasnt a red one thank god. I dont know what make the digger was as I couldnt prenounce it let alone spell it.
Thats me looking gormless in the waterproof.

Lovely pictures. Is that a gallop on pg 2 in the background of one of teh pictures with the 399 and harvester.
F
Hi, yes it is a gallop. It belongs to Michael Owen (the footballer) he trains horses there. He has a website if you want to have a peek. www.manorhousestables.com

Nice 550 - why not push up with the Manitou
The buck-rake driver is scared of the manitou and would sooner drive the 390.
-
And finally, the mower which decided to brake in the last field.
-
A few general pics from around the farm

Poor pic but they are both the 390s and my sister brushing up.
