Fantastic! :of What a result

Hmm, making sure fluid levels are topped up is surely entry-level stuff when you're working with often-used machinery

When travelling through this part of Pembrokeshire you were in Paul I found the soil, slate, hedgerows and general scenery to be very similar to those of south Devon, was that your experience?
-
Did they let you test drive any Deeres Paul?
-
Haven't heard from Rick in a while either now you come to mention it?

First time I've seen wellies at a wedding! Congratulations to the newlyweds, I hope you both have a long and happy marriage!

Helped with the shearing of between 40 and 60 ewes

On the back of my Ford 6600 box there is a blurb about the tractor, its power and measurements plus its history. Does anyone know if there a similar description on the back of earlier 5000 boxes?

That T8020 looks sharp in Deutz green
-
Right, off to look for a lame cow and ring the farmer if I find it.

Gore Tex sounds a bit pricey Sean, but perhaps there are a number of deals on in Countrywide. I trust your expertise in the weather department though!

Did you ever put them through the washing machine Chris I made that bo bo once never again leaves them that they let water in.
I one put them through the natural washing machine that is the Fells, they didn't seem to like that Might have washed them once II suppose..

Flex-o-thane are the best ones I would say. Seem to last a lot longer than any others I've had, and I prefer green ones then hi vis
Thanks Pat I'll look into that
-
My "waterproof" trousers are not up to snuff and I keep getting soaked to the skin, what brands (if any) and what material does everybody buy? I was thinking about some expensive high-vis types, but is it worth spending a lot when they'll probably get torn crossing a barbed wire fence? Thanks in advance!

Can't seem to be able to hire a big enough chainsaw, Jewson, Travis Perkins and Ermin Plant all have 14" bar saws and I need at least 18"

But we have had a few weeks of sunshine too and the past few days have been beautiful with only rain overnight. I ALWAYS see ( or hear the "mew" of) at least one buzzard when out in my garden or walking the dogs but the skies are empty except for pigeons. Buzzards have waterproof feathers unlike owls and I have seen them about when it has been raining. One neighbour has had a buzzard sitting on the top of the telegraph pole outside her house every morning for a couple of years but that is now con****uous by its absence.
Doesn't bode well for red kites either then?
What rather irritated me today was the dumper breaking down half way up the hill. The engine's not revving very high and it's belching out smoke so probably a blocked filter. The farmer put in some dodgy diesel the other day which won't have helped matters. And it's raining again
-
Could be the weather Sue, I'm sure Buzzards don't like to hunt in the rain.

As far as I know the kv vari-width plow is exactly the same as the normal britains version. Even the innertray in the box is the same as the one in the britains window box. The only thing which is different is the outer 'promotional box' .
To be honest I was suprised by the spade wheeled fordson ddn which was not in mint condition. It did 700 GBP.
And as far as I know the orange rear dump is extremly rare, nobody seems to know how many are produced of this trailer. I know that they were sold at the nurnberg toyshow in germany. So I think they did the first run in orange.
They were at the Britains Toyfair (I think it was) in London as part of their 1992 range, but I don't know if they were sold widely in those colours in the UK.
Welcome to the forum by the way Jacky! Where are you from?
-
The KV vari-width? Is it identical to the standard two versions Britains released in 1985 Andy?

A few I'd earmarked went for surprising prices:
- Powerfarm 8830 MIB: £50 (!)
- Hurliman H468 MIB: £80
- Deutz Allis MIB: £80
- Brown Fiat 90-90, TW-20, 2 small Fords, all MIB: £80
- Rare Blue Valmet: £340 (rarer than I'd thought)
- Fiat Hesston 580DT: £140
- Near mint MF 590 (unboxed): £70
Some of the old implements -especially unusual colour variations- made remarkable amounts:
- #9533 rollers in metallic blue & purple, MIMB: £500!! Never drink and bid.
- #9540 manure spreaders MIB x4, some rare colours: £140. Bit more reasonable.
- #9546 & #9555: 70s plough sets x4, all NMIB to MIB: £420. Yikes
- #9548 Rear Dumps in orange - black, and grey - gun metal (?), plus other MIBs: £400. Dumps visible to room bidders only I think.
- Various accessories including 2 boxed yellow Vermeer round balers: £120. I was 1 bid away from this
#9630 Industrial Fordson and Shawnee Poole Rear Dump went for a respectable £800, although similar examples have made a lot more in the past.
- Powerfarm 8830 MIB: £50 (!)

Missing over half of the Peter Barron diecast auction at Vectis.
