Just looked on ebay and to me the front axle looks like its come off a uh david brown/case 1490 or 1494
-
Well cost of the 7810 4wd and a 2 wd front axle if you can source one or buy a britains 6600 and take the front axle off that, im sure somebody else will have a better idea but i converted a uh 6610 4wd to a 2 wd using the method above

Yes thanksJustin, the pictures show the atlas wheels with the replicagri tyres on them👍 -
Yep found that out with the help of 844john on here, there are a lot of differences and you are correct in that the 85 series does have a shorter wheelbase Jan

Next job on the list is to try and get the cab off, the cab and floorpan come off easy enough its getting the cab away from the floorpan. The cab has tabs above the rear wheels like uh models but not screwed, the tabs are glued so that will be attempted at the weekend -

Ok, first job and a fiddly one, there were no holes in the clevis so with a very small drill bit i drilled through the clevis and added a tow pin, i have in the pictures mocked up the wheels from the atlas ford 5000 and added the original tyres and mocked up the exhaust, this is if i do a 885XL version which i know wont be accurate, but i might be doing a 856XL -

First problem is going to be getting the cab off with out making any damage, the cab is not screwed on like uh models, it still has tabs coming through above the rear wheels but the tabs are glued on, might be able to cut the tabs off -

Next up is this ih 845XL, after a chat with 844 john if i turn this into an 885XL it will not be correct, i knew the front grill was wrong as well as the rear wheels and the wheelbase is wrong, the 845XL is a bigger tractor than the 885,but Johns vast knowledge has raised some other points i never new about, so i either keep it as it is allthough the rear wheels would still need to changed imo for a 845,or i carry on with an inaccurate 885XL. I have bought an atlas ford 5000 for its rear wheels that are right for a 885 and an exhaust that is right for a 885, luckily i got the atlas ford 5000 for only £14 so no hardship if i dont use it or i will re sell it, still undecided what to do🤦♂️ -

Yes i certainly didnt know but will still go ahead, i knew the front grill is different and where the ih badge is needs painting black, different rear wheels, which i have, different exhaust and i need new bonnet decals, the difference in wheelbase is 22 cm so in 1/32 is 0.6/0.7mm -

Was aware of the wheelbase difference John but not the other stuff🤦♂️ -
The bale that came with the McHale baler was unrealistic and to me a bit on the small size so i did this
