  1. all the silver jubilees i have serviced and seen had air conditioning it was part of the full spec when launched, towards the end when dealers couldnt shift them some were down specced or ordered down specced. on the subject of four cylinders with air con the early ten series (blue stripe) when fitted with air con did have different radiator grilles with side mounted headlights. force 11 ten series could have standard grilles with air con but it was an extremely tight squeeze installation.

  2. i have finally found some pictures of the silver jubilee 7810 that our depot sold it has silver wheels, ford tractor grey mudguards and ford tractor grey roof with 25 years decals. the other one sold by different depot i believe went out with ford tractor grey wheels due to very poor silver paint job on the wheels.

  3. I did a stint as a warranty controller for a large mercedes benz dealership the ad blue system  does what its suppose to do for emissions  but here comes the but! its urea /salt based and corrodes metering devices  causing sticking and repeated failures. not something that mercedes benz or other manufacturers want to warn about butits true. The other alternative particulate filtration  requires filter changes - dont know what the frequency is on commercial diesel engines but their price for a particulate filter change on a ford passenger car is in the region of £1000.

  4. wow marky that lamborn cab was on the thomas 90 tractors aswell if i remember

might have a crack at one of those in me new shed  ...so thats a lamborn cab

i always thought they were thomas home made or in factory desighned cabs well

you learn something new everyday  ;):)

JJ Thomas used clepa cab  not lambourn although they look the same, the only lambourn cabs fitted were flat deck Q LAMBOURNS the same as fitted to roadless tractors. the Lamborns pictured here on the MFs was heavily based on their last mk6 safety cabs pre q ratings
  5. during the 1980s i lived in essex about a mile from ernest does headquarters, i remember watching both fendt 626 and dueutz dx2.30 ploughing on land behind ernest does. i cannot remember if it was does land or that belonging to neighbouring farmer ulting hall farms. perhaps if ploughing on doe land they could have been under evaluation for fords!?. i have a feeling they were both just on demonstration to ulting hall farms as they very shortly afterwards ran a number of deutz dx tractors both four and two wheel drive. fords  and ransomes did a lot of evaluation and publicity shots on land at ulting belonging to the farm where my dad worked.

  6. work your way to becoming a full blown service engineer- i was one in both agricultural and construction machinery. very rewarding  role incorporates everything servicing, diagnostics, on site repairs including on site overhauls including transmission and engine rebuilds and commissioning of new items. freedom out on the road only downside is the weather
