  1. thats how lorrys are loaded with round bales mark as you can't stack round on round so the bottom layer has to be on it's flat the next layer is on the round & the 3rd layer sat between the bales on the second layer scroll down you'll see one of my trucks loaded with round bales http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,30941.0.html
  2. blimey , not seen one in that condition for many years now
  3. i've seen these trailers out & about but never taken any notice of them , got to say they look very well built, as for the bale trailer , yes the drawbar does look odd with no visable spring attatched to it ! tommy it looks like the axles on you bale trailer could have been set a bit further forward , whats it ride & follow like ?
  4. good going lee although i have to agree with tris & DAF the top lights & bullbars are a bit OTT, i personally would remove the bull bars & like DAF said turn the lights the right way up & put them on the lower grill where they should be , likeing the St George's pennant/flag on the side though , sometimes less is more :)
  5. tris has a unique twist on the carrot & stick theory & if you dont get it finished he'll just beat you with the carrot ;D coming along nicely chap
  6. & probably illegal , workers are supposed to have an 11 hour rest in any 24 hour period ;D ;D got any pics yet mark ?
  7. unless it was sprayed for a company colour scheme it may well be an iseki MF had a deal to provide ISEKI with tractors in their colours
  8. i know of one that is still used , but is permanently coupled to a hedge trimmer unlikely to get a pic of it as it's an 8 wheeler drop love the 575 ,...................well who wouldn't :) as for the TW , they always were purposefull looking machines & remain so still. looks a cracker passed on on a lowloader the other day unfortunately it looked nowhere near as good as that one
  9. hmm read your account of what happened , & even at 15 mph you were still going some near a crossing , it's these sorts of places you need to be thinking about actually stopping & anticipating for events such as these thats pert of driving on the public highway. as for your quote that i've highlighted , it's thought process's like these that create accidents in the first place , it's called complacency & it's not great to hear you say that at your age but i dont really expect anything different , i dont mean to sound harsh to you mate , but i'm on my high horse & well you all got too much power & weight to opperate at your age & to be quite frank it's all wrong unlike the older members here we worked our way up learning from old hands & we all made mistakes , but the kit you have nowadays is far too big for a 17/18 year old to handle , the attitude of todays youth is awfull , think you all know everything , well you dont you learn with experience .
  10. 1) wheelchange on the dung spreader ? so thats what all the banging & cuttings been about ! 2) ah so thats where the 78's been hiding 3) in contact with farmmodels ? really ? you're starting to act like a nutty professer up there in that attic mate !

    Looking for a MF

havent had the pleasure of the 2005 series, many farms i drove for were having the 3000 series rather than have a face lifted 2000. i dont think any 2005 were 40K the 2000 definately wern't as said these tractors answered their critics in the field not on the road, so any trailer work felt slow & labourious on the road but to be fair the 2640 i hauled silage with was slightly faster than the non 40K 3080 which was also on trailers. i think it stemmed from the fact you expected to be going faster because you had a big tractor . from a hedge trimming aspect you'd be hard pushed to beat the 2000 for visability it's great , ive trimmed with 2 & 4wd versions & one's as good as the other , even the 2wd , is great because it's own weight just lets you sit there & get on with it even on reasonably steep ground & with half decent tyres i never shot off down the hill trying to trim whatever i slid past. parts maybe a problem for some of these tractors now , but it's rare anything actually goes wrong with them from my experiences i think tims neighbour, Andrew Carter still has his 2640 2wd on his trimmer , & it's been on that tractor for what must be the last 15 years now ! quite right tim these do give good value for money , but unless you know it's a good one the electrics are the risk , although i think most parts are reasonably cheap & it's all tried & tested so again a good 3080/3090 or a 3115 /3125 would be my bet from this era. for whats required of it i dont think anything from these ranges of tractors would be quite enough for what you want, the only thing that might be any good would be a 699, but finding a good one might take some time , another option would be a 298 with the duncan supercab again you'll be lucky to find one , these were popular dairy farm tractors & many would have had their day now.
  14. dont know what wrong with the jcb mate , wasn't that interested so didn't ask , although , everything that was taken off was washed & placed neatly on the workshop floor , just like a giant jigsaw !
  15. found this mint 7810 with big boots on along with this equaly as tidy 82 also on the same farm a poorly jcb

    Looking for a MF

may be a 2000 series tractor would be worth looking at, very little in the way of electrical problems & big tractor for reasonable money, bit of a plodder & a 4wd version is a bit cumbersome in tight places other than that good engines & backends
  17. does that case pull those tri axle huntapack trailers on the road ? or just in the confines of the estate ?
  18. used to love hauling silage with a DB 1210 years ago , proper farmers tractor , will you try to get a cab for the 1210?
  19. great topic chap, bit of a soft spot for the DB's got a lovely distinctive exhaust note & always enjoyed working them look forward to the 1210 pics. 2 or 4wd ?
  20. WHAT ? tris is his dad but i thought........................... :'( ;D although the daddy bit went a long time ago, nowadays he's big enough to lump me one ;D might just get back to it one day though
  21. we never had lazers at school in my day \ even the stuff on 'tomorows world' looked far fetched & that technology has been out of date for years . although i'm still yearning for the day when retro mobiles become fashionable again , you know the ones that ring & you can talk to people with good going son , was good watching you get this done
  22. lovely pictures again , can almost feel the damp in the air on some of those pictures just off to central asia to see some trucks
  23. still used DX85 (think i've posted this tractor before ?) a tris favorite MF390T what looks to be a blind narrow 135 ? MF 20 ex-RAF well used Bedford TK don't think it's been started for a while though love big tidy farms like this
  24. funnily enough i've found one like that in the same circumstances , i was cleaning an old dissused lagoon at the end of a concrete trac with a slew & caught a fordson major with the bucket , the farmer was well surprised as his grandad had reported it mising in the early 70's ! it needed bump starting every day so left it at the top of the trac , oneday it wasn't there & was reported stolen , it'd never occured to them to look in the lagoon sad about the two farmers , all to easily done though
