  1. Yeah right. What ever your into. ::) I spose youd never find a Massey in a yard like that. cause they normally end up incinerated in some field before they make the scrap yard . >:D

good lord no i just cant justify the expense of buying all those masseys to recreate the amount he has in his yard

  2. We've already established that MJB hasn't even seen the model and had simply assumed it had no steering and a crappy hitch - wrong on both counts, and nicely highlights how some approach these things with a predetermined agenda/viewpoint without bothering to invest some time and money to get their facts right before offering an opinion.

Bottom line, it's a great model and it's selling well. If the hole really is that bad, then just get the filler and spray can out. Or buy a Marge.

i think i also said if the model did indeed have steering & a decent hitch i'd take it all back & in recent eveidence i do, but still think there's no excuse for the cab gap nowadays .

When did either Siku or UH make a model for 15 quid?

Some of Sikus recent releases have been pretty bad. The NH T8 for example is very poor and costs considerably more then Britains cheaper alternative.

talking to a few farmer/contractors i deliver to the 1;1 scale NH range isn't that hot either   >:D

  3. I'm also still struggling with the use of the TW15 and 7710 as a benchmark here. I mean, did the 1:1 version have a centre pivot front steering axle with a rudimentary steering rod coming from under the cab, no glass in the can windows (or control levers for that matter) and a hitch with a huge vertical metal lever to the left hand side? No. They didn't. But the 1:32 versions did because they were toys. And this latest version is also a toy.

got to admit chap i'm struggling here too , can you quote the bit where anyone has compared these models to the real 1;1 versions

Tristopher,Tristopher,Tristopher, you of all people should have known , i'd post something like i have done ;);D

  4. just read your post above justin & negative or not this is a forum for toys & models & personal opinions . i think my biggest gripe is how well britains have done with recent models & to have this 'gap' is a great shame , i think i'm also a bit narked that this tractor should have been part of the britains line up when us older collectors wanted them most, ie; when they were part of the mainstream farm lineup in the real world

  5. thank you paul ;)

can some one show a pic of the steering arangement & the hydraulics on this new 6600 please , as as far as i'm aware a few years ago the leaps & bounds from the last 30 years left the 'new' 5000 & it's ilk with no steering & a hydraulic lift that wouldn't lift let alone keep it in the air for any length of time eg: the britains JD tracked 84** couldn't even lift the 3furrow reversable plough that my old 6600 could handle easily ,even the original 6600 had steering & that was legacy from it's days as a super major way back from days of yore it also had a lift system that kept implements aloft for as long as you wanted them.

if the new 66 has steering & a decent lift arangement i'll take it all back , but the cab gap is an unbeleiveable faux pas in this day & age

  6. To describe the recent Ford releases as being 'ruined' by the gap in the cap and being an 'epic fail' is just exaggeration in the extreme (worthy of some of our current mainstream journalism). In an ideal world, the gap in the cab would not be there. But try putting the new Britains side by side with the bubble cab Marge.

in an ideal world ? excuse me, but even back when the original TW20 was released, the later 77 & 56 & the TW35 etc had a single cast cab

  7. Well urm maybe!!!, i agree mate they are stunning, looking at your old 6600 and new 6600 photo and looking at my own i can see that Britains have come a long way in the past 30 or so years, where can Briains go next i wonder, more classics i hope.

really ? i assume the new 66 has no working steering & crappy hydraulic arms ? if so then britains will continue on it's journey .......backwards .

real shame britains didn't go to siku as the bottom line is ERTL ruined the britains brand, britains should have been left to go under & to be remembered for the quality brand it once was , britains should have been ERTL's premier flagship brand instead of an unhappy sideshow

  8. the new ford looks to be a great addition to the line up , shame about the join in the cab frame ,it needn't be there at all with modern castings it wasn't there on the old ones so no excuse to be there on a new release .

in short, another good model by britains but again let down by an outstanding error with a cab casting.

shame really ,what with the last few tractors bought out with the 74?? MF, the C-IH & IH models , the consistancy has gone right out the window with this new bubble cab & that cab has ruined the whole look of the tractor , sorry britains ,what should have been a massive hit has turned out to be an epic fail

  9. just been catching up on your trips marcus and some great pics , the pic with your lorry blowing in the bin on the tidy farm ,i put the auger in to the parlour from that one when we put feeders in to the parlour, they own the pub hotel in hursley and we stayed down for the week when we done job ,will bump into you one of these days,do you still go there last time i was there a silver volvo and pauls trailer was there blowing in bin.

very rarely go there graham, they're part of a buying group, so will go to whoever gives them the best deal at any given time , if we do get them , it's usually milled at dorchester

  10. robbo re; the same tarus

been on the same farm since new , was once the main tractor when it was a dairy farm but now the farm is a small beef unit , so it's duties nowadays are bit of topping, mowing, turning & small bale hay, they have a ford 7840 for the big feeder & round baler & an old david brown & 3cx for the loading

mark , yup spoil you rotten ! ah i been here roundabouts keeping an eye on bit's & bobs !

sean , get down there about once a month mate , unless a lifton lorry is headed back down that way

  11. even managed to find one for robbo

    SAMETARUS609312Small.jpg

one for the die hard ford fans

    a rather battle weary 8100

    FORD820014911Small.jpg

i usually send tris picture messages of these tractors , as i do find one or two stunners like the 76 & 78's above , so this was a great find , a 6410 2wd, in original condition on the same farm since new

    4412Small.jpg

i also send him a few oddities l like the TW15 SQ cabbed Muir Hill 121 down at Holbeton , quite near our very own Mr Pullen

  12. nice finds they are still out there along with the rubbish whats wrong with the jcb? looks serious?

nothing wrong with the jcb tim , the farmer buy's them good second hand , gives them a good going over them uses them for his farm & a bit of contracting , i did text tris the details asi've forgotten now :-[

  13. 590 still on the loader and 3085/95 does the big jobs now

i'm not sure we'll miss the massey sales as mucjh as the customers will miss the service and backup they got

i think the duetzs will pann out ok there are 4 sold another 10 on order with 5 of those being demo units and as you say southern tractors service let them down as the product it self is very good

so who will be the main MF dealer now then ? compass?

  14. There are more differents between the prototype and the 'facebook-picture', i don't believe it's Britains?

    But here the picture:

if that's a britains model they'll be bankrupt in a week , thats got glue marks & smudges everywhere , not bad for a self build , but a production run by a big company  it'd be their down fall

  15. Defender 90 pick up are good but why not a decent Double Cab and a 110 SW as does Bburago recently in 1/32? Now that Britains are releasing old renewed tractors models, why not a revised version of his Land Rover 88 Series 3? Or a Hard Top version of his current fine Series One. And a final question: what happened with the Britains Defender 90 SW dissapeared from BTN catalogue?

Thanks for your patience...and all the best for the current 2012.

dont hold your breath , when the more detailed landy's were released they took the working suspension away , bit like taking the drivers out of the cabs  :(

  16. ah last time i was there the county was on the feeder , the 590 was on loader duties & that 595 & at the time he had a a ford AP cabbed 6610? doing all the groundwork all good stuff.

bigwoods sold a lot of Deutz in the area & surprising how many still have DX's working, but the issue with deutz was all down to watvere not  wanting to share a dealership , as bigwoods were also starting to sell zetor.

be interesting to see how deutz fare with bigwoods as although there are a few about now because of southern tractors , it was the poor sales that sent southern tractors back into oblivion , think bigwoods will miss the massey sales .

Tim are bigwoods giving up the dealership or has a shakeup meant their franchise isn't being renewed ?
