  1. not today but yesterday i saw an very nice MF168 hedge trimming on the road from Taunton to Wiviliscombe  then up on exmoor a 575 rotavating & well used cab craft cabbed 265 with dutch harrows & following behind him was a donkey jacketed driver with baler twine for belt old chap driving his MF 35X drilling with an MF 732 !

    brilliant

  2. stay away from the county jordan, big county = BIGGER bank account,  look good & provided they havent been misused they're great tractors , but if something goes wrong , unlike a 35 or a dexta, you cant just park it in the garage & drop the front axle off ! same as anyting with a safety cab really , any backend problems could lead to having the cab removed & that means £££££££ to get done , why do you think i went for a 168 ! i would have liked a 590  :-\  298 :-[

for a first tractor to do the rallies & ploughing matches you'd be bang on with a 35 or a fordson, & maybe a little international B series, they are easy to find & even restored ones arnt always too far from a decent price range & will save the time & pennies needed to restore it yerself

if you want to go the collecting route , go for the t20 , there were loads of implements made for that tractor  & you could build up a nice little collection for yerself .

if you want to go the 'use it for contracting' route , then you'd  be hard pushed to beat the international /case international 956 , simple to use, work on & bullet proof everything

  3. ah looks a bit more like it jordan , i think you'll learn much more here than the bigger outfits you were with before . listen watch & learn, it seems to have a bit of everything, & because of the size it will have time for you fit at a decent pace rather than just throw you in & just expect you to do it .

Don't be to vocal about the last few companies though , there's nothing worse than hearing about how good or bad previous employers are  ;)

as said , looks to be a reasonable set up, hope you get on well mate  :)

  4. i think the 9880 is 98HP  when it was first released it was termed as a cheap MF as it shared the same cab as the MF series although it was very popular with dairy farmers as well as the blizzard 75 & 85 but soon fellout of favour when the legend series was introduced, as gone was the simple hard wearing style went out the window for the flash new electrics , that & all the legends weren't the most reliable machines.

    :(

  5. that looks nice colm , seen quite a few over the years , but took a bit of getting used to seeing the all glass doors after the first models with tin doors, friend used to have the older version 9880 & then sold an ageing 698T for a 2wd blizzard75, he thought they were decent tractors ,ideal for his roundbaling contracts

  6. whats this then? thats a picture of a 4365

hight of cab roof is bigger. 2 front work lights on each side. different mirrors.  number of steps to cab. and the back part of the mud gueads on the 42/43s is all red.

it ok paul he's 17 yrs old & right & you're too old to know what yer talking about obviously  ::)  thats the trouble with being our age paul we know nothing  :'( ;D::)

nice model paul PDC paul as in the model maker PDC Paul, but it's all wrong apparently , but i'd say it looks pretty darn good from where i'm sittting & i wouldn't change a thing .

    quality model :)

  7. Already stripped it down i'm afraid, although i can put it back together loosely, i'm not sure whether it's limited edition but it comes on a thing job can't remember the name now that said about the 1993 truck show thing, i got it from my uncle who's into his trucks, he said it was worth quite a bit at the time so it might be a limited edition, i'll find out, I'm trying to find a picture of it on google but i can't find it  ???

:of  you've just broken a limited edition FH to convert to a crappy plain JD hauler ? must be mad  ???
