  1. Very good show today, its a credit to Harold to be able to pull it off. I enjoyed meeting a few members off here, especially Bill, names to faces and all that. As ever it was fun to browse the stalls of the dealers even if some of the bigger names were missing, I must have went around the whole thing ten times! The layout were fantastic, and there were some interesting collections on display too. Here are the best of the photos I took, not a comprehensive record but gives a flavour...

  2. we have a few builders come in the yard Bas for the odd bucket or two of stuff... so we can make sure we don't give them a short measure (or even too much !)... I buy my aggregates by the tonne... so it makes sense to sell them out by the tonne.  I'll use the forklifts weigher for loading baled waste for recycling.. rather than rely on the honesty (or dishonesty in some cases) of my waste recyclers.

It's also going to be useful for making collections of 'muck away' ... which despite the name is usually soil and mixed building waste like concrete and bricks etc

Does this mean you make more money in wet weather Mark, buy it dry and sell it wet like?

  3. Why not just make one trailer with a silage kit included?  :-\

Anyway, taking it as it is shown there and it looks pretty smart with the little detailing that the MAS one missed out on like grain chute etc. Pleased to hear that the construction of it is a reversal of the MAS too with metal chassis and plastic body!! I wonder who approached who to get the ball rolling in the initial stages of this model. If Britains get it right, maybe a few more manufacturers will approach them. ...  :) :)

My thoughts exactly too Tris. I really dont know what they were thinking with the Marston. Looks like theve managed to employ someone with a bit of common sense recently! ;D ;D

  4. Yep, I was able to watch it no problems. (Its only the GAA you cant get outside the island ;) ) I have to say I think this is a real 'feel-good' project that should generate some much-needed positive publicity for farmers in general.

  5. Does anyone know the person that was selling the models in the top 2 pictures?

Yes they are the RJN Classic Tractors models, though I had thought most of them were no longer available, they nearly always do them as limited runs. You can find their ads in most old copies of Tractor and Machinery magazine

While I'm here I may as well add my photos:

It was a very enjoyable show, and was nice to meet a few fellow ftf'ers and see all the shining lights of the industry that I've been reading about for so long.

  7. They've definitely overcooked the slight raised area on the roof alright, looks like someone got a zero in the wrong place in their measurements! Unfortunately this looks like a pretty advanced prototype/ pre-production model so I would not be optomistic that they will change it before it is released.

Can someone confirm that this is 1/32, as it does not seem to be up to the standard of their recent models, and is more reminiscent of the old 1/16 series of Same/Lambourghini/ New holland models? I wouldn't be all that impressed by the opening bonnet, Siku have been doing that for a good few years now.

As for the bonnet decals, we can only see one side of either tractor in the photos. What often happens here is that only decal is designed, and then applied to both sides of the bonnet, resulting in the decal being the right way around on one side and the wrong way around on the other. I seem to recall that this was the case with the (new) Britains 5000 etc. Even if there were two opposite decals available you could still get variations. I suspect the chinese factory workers on 2p an hour are not too particular.

  8. wonder if hes still got them?? i wouldnt mind a nice muir hill in the collection ,tree surgen down heres got one, but has a ford super q cab fitted to it, out naths way actually

Would love to see a picture of that! :of :of

  9. From Sept 1st SPN will be the proud tenant/caretaker of a 14 acre smallholding in deepest Wexico.

    1 cow, 1 calf, 1 pig, 2 piglets, a donkey, innumerable hens, 2 dogs and a cat.

    There is also a tractor!

But we won't talk about that  :-[

If you're going deep under cover to try discover some top secret hurling secrets to bring back to the Deise, your looking in the wrong place ;D ;D

  10. Apparantely you cannot buy them in Europe  :-\

James if you get the chance to come to Spalding the night before and saw what he eats in the evening you would understand...we all buy him onion rings in exchange for models on the following day..its his weakness  ;)

Thats settled then, I'll be waiting at the door with huge box of them in return for two limited edition 6850s :D :D
