  1. sure it will cost you an arm and a leg to get parts up here for a loader.

Why would it cost any more to get parts to you Murray, rrp is the same anywhere in the UK.

The Scorpion is a completely new machine from the ground up when it was made and launched, no comparison/continuation of parts from the Targo.

Yes they are expensive machines, but everyone that I know that has driven one thinks they are a great machine to drive and use.

Although I'm a bit biased, I will say that they can have some niggles, but name me a machine that does not!

  2. -16 deg at my work in Oldmeldrum yesterday  :of  :of , worst I heard locally was -20deg in Inverurie, about 4miles from my work. Was difficult breathing properly when outside trying to thaw out frozen fuel systems  :'(  :of

  3. Just back from helping my sister in Oldmeldrum and the car was telling me it was -10deg :of :of  , windscreen washers all frozen (with winter screenwash in the tank) and wheel arches completely built up with hard frozen snow :of:( .

  4. Smashing pictures, who makes the Claas Direct Disc kits  :of

    Regards

    Joe.

That would be me ;):) . BigA lent me a small space on his stand to display them.

Send me a pm if interested.

Just got back about an hour ago, was a great day, very nice to meet some fellow forum members. As for Damian's display, well stunning just does not seem to cover it :of , a big thanks to him and all others for taking the time and effort to show us their work.

  5. Very good start Sean, I agree that it would look better as an 856 or maybee even an 844. The kit you have got has the right style front axle and bolster for these models, the 885 2wd had a different axle etc.

The 844 would need the side panels of the engine to go further back sloping the other way, same as the 956 acouple of post ago.

  6. PDC told me I should look in here . . . I see what he means now! That's gorgeous that Dominator. A reasonably priced beauty. I hope a similar aged NH comes through one day soon.

Brian/all Claas experts, what are the visual differences between this and a 204? Would a decal change do it and if not, what would need to be done?

Although the 108 and 204 look similar, unfortunately they are different sized machines. The 108 is wider (6 walkers as opposed to 5 in the 204 mega - amongst other things, this translates into different width for the feed elevator/grain tank and rear hood) - Also the 204 is slightly longer due to the extra drum (APS fitted in front of the main drum).

So for an accurate representation of a 204, sadly decals alone will not suffice  :-\ (a 208 would be more feasible - but length would still be an issue)

Having said that, the 108 looks a fantastic addition, & hopefully the first of a range of classic Claas combines from the 70's - 90's (and some from N-H)

    JEP

As Jep said Tris, the extra length needs to be between the cab and grain tank. In a 208 you can walk between the cab and engine, in a 108 you can maybe get your hand in.

  7. That is one great looking combine. Anyone know the difference between the Maxi and Classic Dominators?

Maxi and Classic were introduced towards the end of the production life of the '8 range'. Maxi had the larger grain tank, more hp, hydrostatic transmission and generally higher spec. Classic was the 'basic' model with manual trans. and smaller grain tank etc.

That 108 will definately be arriving in my collection :)

  8. Some very interesting views on dealer back up here, I think that the problems you have are dealer specific as opposed to Claas problems. I also think that Claas would not like to read some of these comments.

We are open 7 days a week rain or shine and have been for the whole harvest period, we also still look after Senators aswell as Lexion 600's. Claas are still interested in the small farmer aswell, they have just launched the Avero range to cater for their needs,

    http://www.claas.co.uk/countries/generator/cl-pw/en/products/combines/avero/start,lang=en_UK.html

As for problem machines, unfortunately there always seems to be a bad one now and again, whatever the breed.
