  1. thanks guys. i have just finished weathering this model so its now on to the next although its hard to tell what the demand will be for.john deeres always seem to sell well but not so much masseys or claas.i have not fitted lights to a ford or new holland yet.any suggestions on what make and model to do next?
  2. here is the latest project.i striped it down yesterday and wired in the cab lights and flashing beacon, then today was spent putting it back together and wiring in the switch and battery holders.i was going to put working lights on the front of the bonnet but there was very limited room inside the chassis for the wiring with this being the tracked model.im going to weather it now then it will be sold.
  3. thanks,im not that keen on the flotations on them either.the standard ones look the part after some weathering.the pics are not that great but thats the weathering finished on this and its for sale on ebay.
  4. this was very fiddley i had to fit everything in one half of the chassis and try and hold it all in place while i put it all together. i have made the hydraulic hoses and fitted them and the mirrors, driver is now seated and looking very happy.the first layer of weathering has been done aswell this will be listed on ebay later.
  5. finished all the wiring today so its time to put it back together, i need to make two mirrors, add hydraulic hoses,cb aerials,i have made a driver for it then i will weather it.
  6. this is my next project,as you can see its been striped down and i have cut the door out and made an opening door for it.i will be adding working working lights and flashing beacon, mirrors and detailing the cab, then the whole thing will be weathered.
  7. any half decent electronics supplier will sell you leds.i find soldering easy, mind you i find alloy welding easy which most people find impossible.fitting the leds, wiring, batteries, switches into the model neatly and out of sight can be tricky as there is very limited space.
  8. thats this conversion finished and will be listed on ebay later.
  9. i have not posted for a while as i have been in hospital having an op on my spine and i am not allowed to sit at the moment making it very difficult to do any modelling so what would normally take me a day has taken nearly two weeks. i have painted the cab interior, added lights on the front of the bonnet, front of the cab, rear of the cab, tail lights on the back arches and flashing beacons, and as you can see in the pics theres wires everywhere.i will try and get it finished in the next couple of days and it will be sold on ebay. http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq265/hotrod192/DSCF4512.jpg http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq265/hotrod192/DSCF4516.jpg http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq265/hotrod192/DSCF4517.jpg
  10. thats the jd weathered now it will be listed on ebay later tonight.
  11. i took some pictures of this model in the dark.
  12. yes they give you a good solid base to work with. switches and battery holders are now wired. it took a bit of time tucking in all the wires and battery holders, placed the switches in and drilled the holles under the model for them then got it all back together. now its time to weather it but do i make it a little bit dusty or really muddy?im thinking about making a display plinth/diorama for this one.
  13. the batteries will be hidden inside the chassis under the cab.
  14. the interior is painted and started feeding all the wires through to the inside of the chassis under the cab ready to start connecting to the switches and battery holders, this has been a wiring nightmare due to all the lights.
  15. i got most of the lights wired today,im at 20 leds and there is still more to go on.got the wheels and engine painted, added hand rails.i should be able to get it built back up tomorrow.
  16. there is so much machinery passing through my workshop i thought it was worthy of its own topic.i have rented this workshop from my son while we look for a bigger workshop.at the moment we hire machines and drivers out and do maintenance on all sorts of machinery. we definately need a bigger workshop as our latest purchase only just fits in.
  17. just recieved this monster of a machine so i better start ripping it to bits and detailing it.
  18. ive just finished another one of these for selling but ive added one of my new creations which will be part of my cab detailing range.jd brochures, workshop manuals.
  19. what sort of size would you be after? ive got so many ideas for models but its hard to know just what people will be interested in buying. As i promised in a previous post i will reveal all my secrets in the book i am writing.i will also be starting a new business venture doing custom models, decals, diorama accessories, scratch builds etc,so i will be putting together a website soon.the only thing holding me up at the moment is i am waiting to go into hospital for an operation on my back in may and if that goes well then i will be able to go full steam ahead making more stuff for selling.
  20. thanks for your comments,i cant decide whether to put one of my scratch built spotlights on these ones or just to leave them without.
  21. this is one of the new designs i have started making for my scratch built diesel tanks.
  22. thanks. thats it finished now and has been listed on ebay.
