I was wondering about this after doing my PA2 at college. How much is a yearly subscription then Gav and would it be useful to a younger person like me?

If thats the lorry i think it is there is another photo going round on facebook taken from the front.

Finally finished maize at college yesterday and then went to see some being combined this afternoon.

I was up there over lunchtime today picking guff up, Martyn. Must have brushed shoulders at some point. I'm glad you got some photos as I had neither the time nor the camera! I watched the guys unload that Bud, it sounded beautiful, I'm sure it was a magazine feature? Sid you see the '83 Deere 3040 2wd, it looked incredibly original. I wish I had has the time for a wander but sadly I had to load a pallet of manifolds, two engines, three Massey 165s and a Belarus 570 in the rain
You could be right about the Big Bud, it looks like one that was restored in Classic Tractor a few years ago.

If anyone is going tomorrow, i would like to know the final price for the mf165 if possible.

Slowely going on around here. We have had all of our barley bales delivered and Lackham have the combine in some of their wheat by us today. I believe i can also see a combine header waiting at the headland of some wheat fields on the other side of the farm.
-
Seems to be going on well around here. Had our first 2 loads of barley straw delivered today
-
I hope to make it as a spectator/buyer.

Interesting point about the power Tris. I wonder how long the tractor that was once used on our home clamp ( 2wd Ford 6600 many many years ago) would last clamping for a modern forager before the driver gave up.
-
Thats what i was tryng to say
I thought it probably was
-
Round our way the prefered is Tractor and buckrake, usually a New Holland 7030!! But James Bell runs a JCB 434 for the clamp!! Thats a beast!
His 7030 clamps for the other forager. before that it was a TM175 and before that it was a TM165 but that was before the 434.

yeah ive seen it sean, but still a rareity really,99% are spfh's on the maize
And another thing I've noticed is that the combines Ive seen harvesting maize over here(all 2) have both had 8 row headers, not the huge ones that seem to be used on the britains models.
Back on topic, hope this goes well for you Paul, only small changes but im sure it will improve the models realistic look.
-
I think that you are right in your guess that forage wagon silage would be harder to clamp, at least it was when we had some done, due to the longer length. We used a JCB telehandler at college but we had a bigger clamp with a tractor rolling at the same time, but even with the long haul, I dont think a telehandler would have done anywhere near as good a job rolling. I think another factor againt telehandlers is that they generally have a lower ground clearance so I would think they would struggle to climb the clamp more.

My local farmer is struggling to find 4 dry days to mow/row/bale.
Same here Chris and I guess the same in many other places.
Lets hope we get some decent sunny spells soon.

The man that has decided he has the right to walk out through our fields and let his dog run all over the crops chasing an arrow, especially when the footpath is clearly marked and all of the stiles on our land are well maintained.

The awkwardness of young cattle. If they were to find a small hole in a hedge they would soon (in my experience) make it big enough to squeeze through but give them a 12ft open gateway and they just stand there moo-ing, even when its a field of fresh grass on the other side.
What have you been doing or plan on doing today?
