many of them think that because they have done a days ploughing here or an hours drilling there they are experienced in it and won't accept the fact that they are not and have only just played at it. I've come across some real arrogant know it all little sods with a massive ego and chip on their shoulder who think they know the lot and are unprepared to listen when people try to offer them advice and instead will just rant and rave about how unfair things are for them because they think older farm workers are picking on them.
This is a pretty good description of about half of my college course.

there is nothing wrong with collecting present day brochures one day they will be old as well and best of all they are free!!!
Thats the only reason i get them to be honest Markus. The only ones I am willing to pay for is of tractors that we now run or used to run.

Some readers of classic tractor may have read about this but for those that dont read it, here is some information. A group of students on the land based technology course at lackham recently stripped down and refurbished a Massey Ferguson 165 over a 24hr period. The tractor was donated by the family of the late flight lieutenant Neil Cox. The project was sponsered by AGCO, who also donated all parts needed for the rebuild. All sponsor money raised is being donated to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, along with the money raised by the sale of the tractor (20th of October at Cheffins vintage sale if anyone is interested)
Now for some pictures
All stripped down
Work begins
Room of parts
Busy busy busy

I would agree with Tris and go for a midland. We have 3 and have no trouble with them. Although with some newer tractors, there have been a few problems with the picking up of people talking. I know with the NH T7000 series this was a awkward problem to get around, something to do with other electrical signals being given off by the tractor computer, so watch out.

I think it was at Grassland and Muck for its UK debute? The first one in the UK, that is for sure.
You best come to Holland Joe. Plenty to see here! Met two high speed ones on the highway yesterday mowing verges. Quite a nice sight but hard to photo!
Ah, thanks for mentioning that Niels, I knew I had seen it somewhere. It is quite an imposing machine up close. I will see if I have any photos for you Joe.

Fair enough on tractors & trucks, but when you see them on roofs & boots of cars, Just have to laugh!!!
What makes it worse is when you have 2 ariels on a car and no cb in the car, like someone on my college course has.

Looking good so far. I hope it comes out well, a 998 is one of those popular machines not yet miniaturised.
