Starting 2022 with my first ever 'haul' of models. For someone who's been in the hobby for ten years now I've never really acquired many models, most being built. Most of these I've bought for conversion when I can find the time. I just know that when I do find the time they'll have become obsolete and expensive so grabbed them now. The Siku 6290 is simply because it's as close as I'll get to the 6930 I drove summer 2020 without emptying my bank account!
Nice gathering, I have a couple of Siku 6290's that I bought in 2005 waiting to be converted. The UH deutz TTV 1160 is a great donor model for it.

Thanks for sharing the details of the process, it's great to see how your models come together. Your assembly line would make Henry Ford proud.

Looking good, will be interesting to see the comparison to the wiking version.
I was in the same position with the Ertl John Deere 9570RX, where I detailed it all up and then Wiking released their version. I am now hoping for Wiking to release a 9RX.620, so I don't end up with two of the same model.

Very impressive work Chris, particularly with the booms some serious patience with the plasticweld involved!
Thanks very much. Yes the booms took quite a while to get right, they are nearly there but will need a bit of tweaking.
I realised after building all the frame for the booms I forgot to leave space for the central spray nozzles, so that will near a bit of a tweak as well.

I thought I would create a topic for this build rather than adding more to the workbench topic.
The model is in the closing stages now, I have built most of the sprayer booms. They are working about as well as I think is possible, I need to add some supports to hold them straight when they are fully opened.
I think the supports for the closed booms are too high, so that will have to be modified.

Lovely builds on the go Chris, looking forward to seeing the forward control, a Knight I assume? I've seen a couple of half-hearted efforts but I'm sure you can make something truly befitting of the real vehicle!
I have had the model on hold as I have been looking for donor booms, as I haven't found any the plan has been to make them. I started that process today, making decent progress. My new problem is making the 180 degree pivot for the 2nd stage of the booms.

I have made a little more progress on the Claydon Terrablade. Just need to add the rams and depth wheels now.
I also managed to pick up a damaged Precision John Deere 8530 cheaply. So I decided to chop into the model a little so the Dave Twose half tracks and front wide wheels would fit better than on my original 8530.
Pretty much finished the Claydon Terrabalde now, so I have started on the next Chritmas Project a Marston 14T Fenlander.

That's some amazing scenery, I do miss traveling around the US countryside. Fingers crossed Covid is over soon and I can get back.

Yes looks like a pretty good model.
maybe good news as well that Deere are letting Wiking and Ertl produce the same models. So hopefully their will be a Wiking Deere X9 on the way.

I didn't realise how big those chaser bins are Chris! Looking good
Well mine is a little higher than the real one, as the wheels I have used are much larger.

I think they had them all running at the US farm progress show last year. I can’t remember if they were running the X9 or S790 Deere’s.

Seems like an 8900TT must be similar to double his S690s which he says are running at 45-50T/hr. As reports I have seen rated the 8900 at 90-100T/hr.
I do really like the X9 though, I really hope Ertl either do really detailed version the X9 like they did for the 8RX Or would better if the rumour is true that Wiking will make one.

this is a big price for a model, especially seeing as it was bought days earlier for 595 EUR.
