I think the market has gone a bit silly for these. Many say 'I could get ?xxx on Ebay for it', but in the real world ?1400 would be a fair value I would say.

Glad you kept the 399 - real hard working tractor.
-
Plenty power there!
Is that slag spreading?
-
brilliant john , seemed to have missed this , what a great topic , any more pics ? how come you moved away from massey for your prime mover?
Cheers Marcus......the reason? The 61 series....

Originally they were all mudguards but literature options calling them fenders has resulted in the 'front fender rear mudguard scenario'.

My neighbour bought one from someone who advertises regularly in th back of The Farmer's Weekly - but it's not there this week
Wasn't too expensive, quite light and PTO driven and holds about 3 wheelbarrowfuls.......
Will try and find out the name.

Dusty old job, Martin.
-
very good, t6000 or t7000 or maybe red
Got a shortlist of 3 at the moment - I'd start a colour war if I said which

Great job on the Fordson.
That is a monster snow plough set up too - could that 2wd tractor be used on that?

Moving a few silage bales for a neighbour....

...and what exactly were you doing at the time of your collision with the pylon, Mr Powerstar?

Although it wouldn't be 'correct' I'd put the 500 lift on. From experience, the 500 lift wasn't perfect, but was stronger and safer than the earlier one with chains. Just make sure the lift rods aren't stretched past adjustment.
Nope... mine locks into position by two HUGE hooks... I'll see if I have a pic of it before I fitted it... that will explain everything
That looks like a good idea but must put a big strain on the stabilisers (the wrong way) and the pins on the arms Pity you couldn't just fit the chains to the upper arm pins.

An amazing bit of work

It's serious when were all cutting down large models to make machines more widely used.....
Looks good, Sean and lots of discs left over.......
-
Same as Pingu - lots of grain moving this month, little bit of fencing, keeping pigeons of OSR, too wet to even think about going on to the fields....
-
We had a 148 for few years when they were new, and about all I can remember is that the brakes were poor and the kingpins snapped periodically - don' recall it being noticeably different to the 135 to drive....
I'm not sure but I think the wheels were bigger than a 135 - it was quite fast on the road

thats a great website you've got there john, and as for the farm loos very clean and tidy which is what i love nice to see it
Thanks Matty, i like to look after the kit.
those spreaders are great and the calibartor computer makes life nice and easy, whens the 8360 up for changing john
I'm thinking about changing this year, but it depends on prices.
We used to get all the fertiliser in small bags - I remember 2, 20 tonners in one day......we were like you at the end of it. then we had to hand ball it on to trailers and then into the spreader.

I've just bought one to do the exactly the same. I thought the hopper might need to be shrunk, but that looks really good - nice job.

Tidy bit of tackle there, Ol - welcome back.

Nice going fellas!
That whole layout looks superb and the little details just finish it off, and those tractors all look pretty nifty too.
