  1. I love mine as well Barry and I'm not the biggest IH fan either. There's a couple of very small paint issues on it and the aeriel won't stay in without a small bit of blu-tack on the end but otherwise I'd say it was a cracking model, just need something blue of the same vintage in the same scale now
  2. Nope, I'm not saying anymore about it just yet, all will be revealed in good time
  3. Marge Models Ford 7610 Gen II 4wd, its an essential part of a new build I'm planning to start over the next few weeks
  4. My late Father had one of these as well, I believe its at my Mum's house somewhere having been part restored by him a few years before he died. From your description it sounds like its the same model in which case it was made by Denzil Skinner, I don't have any pictures at present though but have found a link with a picture. http://www.vectis.co.uk/Page/ViewLot.aspx?LotId=436346&Section=6082&Start=180
  5. Well todays effort of beef casserole certainly tasted good when it came out of it so its passed its initial test, I can safely say it was £10 well spent
  6. Bought a slow cooker with my shopping from ASDA this week, using it for the first time today, turned it on low at 6.30am this morning and its now cooked, means I won't be eating so late when I come home from work in future Also bought a new pair of wellington boots, got fed up with cheaper ones, the last pair lasted 5 full days of use before giving up so trying some of those French things this time!
  7. Nice job there Barry, its a hydraulic ram that sits in the end of the press arm to operate the release catch. I have mine plumbed into the turnover ram supply so I can pull the spool lever back to release the press and it then resets itself when I push the lever forwards at the headland to turn the plough over. Some people have it on a seperate line but my old tractor didn't have enough spools for that so done it this way, I have also seen it plumbed into the trailer brake connection so all you have to do is tap the brakes to release it.
  8. Nope, when he said a truck had hit the bridge I thought he meant a small 3.5 or 7.5t one not a bleeding great artic full of straw, the drivers IQ must be equal to or lower than the number of wheels on his rig ;D
  9. That bridge is one of the most bashed in England, its only got a 9ft clearance under it, I won't even take my Discovery under it as it'll remove the CB aerial off the roof! I think its quite an impressive effort by the driver, you have to ask what he was thinking to do that. For once I agree with your comments Mr Hobbit, it feels so wrong to do so too ;D Its the bridge just outside Standen's place as anyone who knows the area will have probably already guessed.
  10. Yes it is Ol, thats where our calves go once they are weaned at 6-7 months old until we sell them at 12 months ish
  11. The worst bit is that the first two pictures in my last post are on a neighbours field. We were lucky in that we got all of our first wheats in in near perfect conditions and also our winter barley, whats more surprising is that the slugs haven't been hitting the wheat too hard, just the damned geese attacking it as they come in for the winter. We finally finished lifting spuds yesterday lunchtime despite having 3mm of rain Monday afternoon, I was determined to push it and get them done for the sake of just a few rows, what was in the trailers was a 50/50 mix of mud and spuds though. I did have one minor incident with the harvester but manged to reverse out and get through it on the second run, the wonders of a powerful wheel drive system. After 6 hours with a pressure washer today I finally have a clean turn out again, I'd almost forgotten what it looked like without mud plastered all over it!!
  12. Might as well start a new week the same way as we finished the last one........... That was on light land as well, all the heavy stuff is finished now, just no bottom to this stuff, by the time the tractor has spun its stuck. Rained off again at the moment with only 2 loads/16 rows left in the field to lift. This is a new lifting technique designed to test trailer drivers out.............was too wet to reverse down the ruts where we had to pull out the previous load 50m from the headland so got him to drive down and load up in reverse for that shorter distance
  13. Bought the Amazone combination earlier in the week and got it in my hands yesterday, looks a very nicely detailed model, with some good touches like the removeable metering wheel that can be swapped between work and transport positions.
  14. Cheers Chris, seems we are allowed two days of dry followed by more rain at the moment. I know a friend of mine had a bad day on maize yesterday locally, he got his Jaguar bogged, one trailer turned on its side and 3 trailers all stuck at various positions in the field at once, the joys of Broadland marshland! We've not even looked at getting beet up yet, need to get spuds done first so I can get my wheels changed and plough on to get right behind the harvesting contractor, see if we can get some more wheat in.
  15. We do also cart the soil from the grader back to the field it came off so there's a chance that it was heaps of grader soil you saw as well Chris. Always try to put it back into the same field for disease control reasons, any pests from that field stay in that field then.
  16. Thats the old store just being used to hold loads short term while we wait for bulkers just so I can keep lifting them. Never seen so much mud come through the harvester. The two heaps at the right hand side of the first picture are from what went through the harvester when trying to get to where I had to back out from Tuesday, the ruts were so deep that I had to have the harvester running to stop the digger web filling up with mud, instead it clogged the discharge elevator solid as it couldn't cope with the shear amount of the stuff going up it.
  17. Here we go again........one part days lifting due to bulkers not being available now the store is full, looks like we should be able to get going tomorrow before it rains again tomorrow night!!
  18. Had another go at the spuds this morning Tris and what you can see in those pics has nothing on today, got across the field once, ok so there were a nice pair of wheelins so tried a second end as its usually better when you can get on fresh lifted ground........BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG mistake, had to reverse out with the harvester using the wheel drive in reverse to claw myself out, was in to its guts all the way back, didn't think I was going to make it out!
  19. Lets just say I was happy enough to stay here but this afternoons events have shown my employers in a whole new light. Bit more complicated than just moving on as I'm in a tied house at present.
  20. Work, definately work..................................now where's the job search > >
  21. Had the same situation with our combine John, in the end I kept it in second gear in the wet fields so I could get out of any wet bits quicker. Is that a Kv plough that you have there?
  22. Mud Potato harvesting all day, need about 3 more days to get finished now, very slow going with how sticky the soil is on this field when its wet
  23. It's our 6420s that spends most of its life hooked onto the sprayer. Think the plan is to cultivate the ruts out then plough it if the weather allows. We have had a 6820 on loan for a short while while our 6910 was having its head gasket and injectors changed but no pictures of that.
