Priced the 6290 yesterday at an MF dealer who had them in stock,
Was over the phone so haven't actually seen it in the flesh but going by the feedback here I didn't want to give £31 for it until I see it for real...
That picture from that angle MF135 posted makes it look not too bad?
-
Thanks for the Idea Sean
Still will never look right with the cab though unfortunately
-
I'm just going from memory, The grab could be removed but it doesn't have a simple method of reattaching to anything else
-
I don't have one to hand but as far as I know it isn't as simple as that,
I'm pretty sure there is no headstock as such as far as I remember it is moulded to the grab
-
Thanks!
Yes I will be selling these, I will be at Moira show
-
I had to cut quite a bit out, to get it to fit,
No other way around it unfortunately
-
Thanks!
I will be making these to sell, and will have a stand at Moira Show

I have done abit more work to this 5455 I had started,
So here it is:
- 3
-
The bonnet was already sent away to be cloned
-
Done abit more progress on this,
Not completely finished just yet few more things to do and tidy up
Any comments appreciated
-
Thanks,
I should have it complete by the end of this weekend If all goes to plan,
The 2wd axle looks better now it has been painted so will post up pictures of the progress soon,
-
Would the like of this tractor in real life have had flared arches?
Thanks for the comments and advice
-
Its just a UH 5480 then an Artisan32 2wd front axle,
got it steering and pivoting properly now
-
This is something I was trying this morning,
I am really undecided on how it looks and unsure whether I should continue
Advice and suggestions wanted
I will be fitting a hi vis bonnet on it,

Unfortunately the front wheels don't spin, they wouldn't move in enough unless I took this option...
I'm not bothered as it just reduces the risk of it rolling away haha
This is now decalled 6480
-
The Celtis rims make a nice job of the model,
The narrow wheels that are standard ruin it for me
-
Thanks lad, really happy with the outcome,
-
Now my model:
Just need to get a 5440 decal made up and a set of rear fender extensions done next
-
This is my latest creation,
I am really happy with the result of this conversion,
This is a model version of our 5440 that we got at the start of the summer
It is a UH 5430 with swapped cab top with the 5480 which was very tricky as the top of the cabs were a different size
Then I removed the quite frankly crap wheels UH had used and replaced with a beefier set of rubber
Then added the MF style weight block
First of all the rubbish UH model:
Then the real McCoy:
-
Really love doing the Massey conversions
I've got red in the blood (literally)
-
Great, Thanks for that
Got some of the other colours from dealer so will pick up a can of red next time I'm past
Only problem is when I go in I end up buying another model aswell haha
Have a 5430 on the way to get the works so its a replica of our new 5440
-
Thanks!
Very pleased with the result so far,
It definitely has been a challenge but rewarding when you get the desired result,
It will be fitted to a 5480
-
Thats a insult to him going by what UH have given us haha
-
Thanks, Number 2 is in the making!
