So ,,,,,,,, I've been wondering how to make a hundred or so bales  of straw , I've found a couple of balls of 1950's sisal string which is still the same colour as it was when it was made ,  cut it into 10 mm , 15 mm and 20mm lengths , then I roll it between my hands and all the pieces separate and looks just like straw,,,,,, so that's the easy bit ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, now how to make those pesky bales

  3. For anyone at a loose end in the North West tomorrow there is a model show in Shap.

I believe it will mainly be truck models. I am going with some of my scratch builds and Marge models.

Will grab some photos if anything catches my eye!

I guess they might sell  a few of the 710 version which I assume is equal with the Quadtrac 715, even though it looks bigger than the CASE.

The problem with this big increase in power is that the farmer will also have to increase the size of the implements that go behind them, and thats another big additional cost.

Theres a quite few 9620/40RX around these parts now, mostly by default having pinched sales off the Quadtrac simply by being the right "colour", but i'm hearing that farmers are so impressed by their 8RX's that they are thinking of down sizing  when their 9RX's come up for replacement.

Not so sure about the 8RX theory Phil, the info I've been hearing from people in the sales industry is that whilst the initial release sold well noones been rushing back to buy more, with virtually no new sales this year. The price of wearing parts, particularly tracks, and lies about how long a set of tracks will last, particularly at speed, being quoted as the main reason for not buying again.

splash of ransomes orwell blue, and some white gloss on the wheels and tamiya rubber black on the tyres, tyres went on really well despite the depth of the treads, which is good. a d finally seeing as these two will be mine, started some timber, if i sell some(5 ready to paint) they wont have this, its very time consuming to fit,and not cheap either compared to the other option

They're coming to life with paint on Sean, have to admit I didn't think it would be possible to print what you've made, very impressive

  6. We've been busy over the winter period at Braemere Models with a few new/re-run kits hitting the shelves, and a few prototypes nearly ready for release.

First up is a kit that's been out of production for a year or two. The Fruehauf Bulk Tipper Kit, now with decals for Fruehauf and Wilcox brands and a variety of sheet options.

Alongside the tipper I've also developed a single axle dolly based on the model we manufactured when I worked for Bradleys Group, looks the part on the 8S!

  7. Impressive stuff Andy, I've always had trouble with clear resin curing, but then I've always bought the cheapest one!

I saw mention elsewhere of putting a reflective surface behind? I think something like tinfoil or aluminium tape may work well, however silver paint has always looked abit dull when I've had a clear part up against it. Photos show headlight recess painted silver then the resin light in place, might have been more the poor quality of the resin though.
