Been tinkering with weathering. I had a lot of help and advice from Paul (valley axe man) who has a 16th scale scammel lowloader and from Sam at Cheshire farm models who gave me good advice on the weathering. The nature of their job means even a brand new lowloader wouldn't stay clean for long so an old one would look knackered. Still a little bit of finishing of to do like pipes and a set of wheels so I can return these to the britains cattle and mixer lorry a that are currently sat on axle stands but think it looks ok for a first attempt.
That's come out great Martin, really smart work

All coming together nicely Sean. I do like the look of the muck heap, have you considered mixing it in with a thick varnish for a wet/glossy look, might dry abit better than PVA?

That looks great now that the timbers been weathered down, suits the random course/ old style stone work much better too

Fantastic work Alf! Very nice indeed

Thanks Ted, still a few lambing bits to add yet but overall I'm very happy with it, at a stage I've wanted to get to for a few years now

The Swaledales and Herwicks have been moved to the lower fields of the farm for lambing. On a quick scout of the field we spotted a Swaley was lambing early and in breach so needed some assistance. Now safely inside for the night with both lambs doing well, should be back out tomorrow all being well.

Nicely done John, with a skill like casting under your belt nothing will hold you back, full tractor next?

The barns come together nicely Sean, and sits well in the environment. Liking the way the vegetation meets and wraps around all the buildings.

Very very tidy, that back end looks like hard work with all the angles going on

Suits the cladding, looking good overall. I'd say that there shouldn't be a major difference in colour between roof and walls, after a while nature has a habit of making everything a similar colour.
Personally I'd say maybe every part could be a little darker. But given you are modeling 20/30 years ago the weathering shouldn't be as drastic or heavy as if you were modelling the same sheds today when some more of the newness would have worn off, so you've probably got it bang on.

That's a serious shed you're on with, can't wait to see it finished!

Trailer looks fantastic Martin a very interesting subject, I seem to have lost the rim moulds but looks like you've managed to sort out some wheels.
Loading shovel looks like it'll easily be up to the standard demonstrated on here recently.

Really intrigued by these blocks, seems to make the building style work where you build from the ground up like a real building as opposed to making each side, then bringing them all together like a B&Q shed. I guess it means it's easier to set the building into the landscape as it has to start on the board

Following with great interest Sean
