  1. recovery guy by us has a 6620 painted in his own colours too
  2. ahh nice to see someone carrying on the massey tradition
  3. only way you can compare machines is get them in the same field and use the same driver etc you cant say that pete in dorset's fx is better than better than paul from carmarthen's claas
  4. i got to be honest i think its dispickable ! the machine is someones pride and joy and alot of effort has gone into the investment of the machine which can take years and a theif can destroy it in an hour or two its bad when youve got to "baby sit " your tools i think :/ i remember as a kid we used to finnish late and we used to just park up in the field next to the road <leave the keys in it and go home in the 4x4 , and now in work if we have to leave kit out of our yard we always try take it back to the farm yard or if its too far it gets hiden in the field and a implement blockin the gate -shows how the world has changed doesnt it \
  5. there is some good crops down here but no where near ready ! need a few weeks yet highest one ive seen was abt a week ago and was nearer 7-8ft now and that is across most the 100ish acres that weve planted
  6. no i wish i had one , ts135a and 998 is what i drive for real so would love to make one sometime r.b contracting has had someup dates already well the order for the 7070 and the 6090 have been dropped :/ they keep pushing the dates back so we are going to re arrange the fleet a bit as we've purchased 2 low houred tm165's and the t191 will have a front links + pto fitted and will take over the 936's dutys and she will be sold and the tm's will go on the trailers and where not sure if we will keep the 818 to repay some of the cash weve just spent on the computer to be sorted :/ at the moment she will prob have a front and back mower fitted as the old 7530 is struggling to keep up oh and the 7840 is chugging on with almost 18200 hours on the clock now shes be a reliable tool ! and the tm310s has arrived too expensive year for us

  8. now that is very true !!! nice and chatty when you visti or talk somwhere but turn up with equipment totaly differant person \
  9. my boss's dad started contracting in 1972 ,he bought a brand new ford 5000 and topper and went round topping for farmers and has since progressed to being the biggest contractor in wales acreage and by equipment ,having 3 self propelleds at one time but the sons have now changed the line up and now have the 2 biggest forage harvesters that john deere do- 7950 10 plate and a 7850 09 plate, runs 23 tractors cat challenger new holland massey and john deere. has 2 sqaure balers and a fusion . 4 mowing outfits. 4 claas rakes. 4 umbilcal slurry kits and one injecter . 3 tankers from 2500 up to 3700 twin axle with injecter and thats just some of the kit i think your success depends on area and your timeing i think thinking about it id love to write up exactly what they have \ bet theres millions worth
  10. would rather a manual or powershift / semi when using trailers as ur on the brakes all the time with cvt/vario but for field work they are very good for jobs such as baling as you keep the revs and can go at the balers pace not the gears/revs pace
  11. 200 acres and it took 14? not being funny the boys in work with triples quite often cover 150 acres each a day ! so thats quite slow goin :/
  12. depends what your power haroowing for , spuds you would struglee to use a 6m on 200hp would be better off with a 4m , but if you were working land for maize / grass id say 5m but for wheat/corn etc youd get away with 6m but soil type would also hampper your answer. and if you had a folding harrow it would aslo differ the answer as folding takes more power. at work we use folding 5mtrs on 6930's and 6920s's and they handle them ok when doing maize land
  13. hey luke hows it going bud ?,nice to know your still with A+B ive almost completed my first year with the contractor im working with i got the same job as you too aha i got a brand new 2010 mchale 998 had her at the end of last season and she had just done about 4800 odd bales before i sprayed her down in octorber did have a nh ts115 on the front but did have a blast with a 6930 on her for a while but the boss bought a ts135a about oct-nov time and ive had her since she came on the pumps and spreaders and put around 500hrs on her so hopefully will have her on the wrapper this year got a bit more guts than the 115 she used to struggle on hills aha
  14. did you find the loader clumpsy on clamp then ?
  15. ahhh damo :/ i know the farm you went to , know there son fairly well and my best mate works next door aha small world isit
  16. id love to have works jd 6930 on clamp electric finger tip spools and has front links and boy does she have some power , she would be perfect with a nice 10ft push off
  17. i saw you skyving marcus haha you were parked up on the road from llandeilo to carmarthen on the bypass in the layby at about 11.30 on saturday
  18. iessu mawr haha , i wonder about all the people commenting in this topic about that we should never go over 20mph i wonder if they speed in there cars and do 71+ when they should be sticking to 70 not being funny but this is life if everyone obeyed the laws and rules the world would be a perfect place but as everyone one knows fat chance of it happening
  19. we use a jcb 434s and a jcb 416s with 16 and 14ft fold out buckrakes , and when the machines are being pushed the jcb tm310s comes out to help , she also does the farms with low or tight sheds.
  20. correct me if im wrong but you shouldnt be going down a hill flat out ? you should be pullin down the gears to hold the tractor back and not leaving her run away ! my boss saw you doing that you'd be down the road
  21. personally i much rather 40k out of the speeds availible, there much better geared for roads than 50k+ and i find that people push the tractors too much when they are higher speeds eg harsh cornerin , harsh braking etc and tyre wear is beyond on the 50k's so im quite happy to stick with 40k 6930 then the 50k 6930s we got
  22. fair play id hate to be carting silage with an 18t trailer at 60kph its hairy sometimes at 50 let alone any higher
  23. we had the the big x 650 and 12 row header on demo last week and boi (is spelt boy!) it takes some crop in one swipe wish we had another 12 row header and we could have put her on the jd 7950 see how she would have taken the 12 row Edited for Chav Talk!!
  24. push the back part of the ram up to the top of the chrome ram as if in real life and the mowers will stand corectly as the play in the pins will be taken up the ram if you get me basically push the ram together and it will stand up
  25. lost count on the amount of wholecrop we have done up until now at work the jd 7850i is on wholecrop and the jd 7950i is on silage but as the 7850 has a problem with the shoot work have bought a jd 7550 while they get someone to fix it and the 75 is on silage and the 79 is on wholecrop nw until the 7850 is back then they will swap back ill have to upload my pics up soon got a good couple hundred now so will have to pick some
