I know what the cost price is at Valtra but to be fair on the traders I won't say! but just to say there back on general release and are in the Valtra catalogue - and there priced as a normal tractor would be.

I must admit this 3 Tier bonnet terminology confuses me. Where did the term come from? On the Renault models they marked some of the boxes with 'New Design' when they brought out the model with the extra grill. Also some of the models were labelled up as Renault 936RZ-2004.
If by 3 tier bonnet it has the L shaped grill in the side panel then yes my Stotz has one of those. Apologies for the confusion.
What I'll do when I get the time is create a list of all the UH models I have and forward it. It will also ensure I tidy the loft up at the same time!!
3 tier is just the terminology for the engine mods or upgrades all vehicles, cars included had to do to comply with for new emission regs. The disadvantage of this is the engines runs extremely hot and requires, usually bigger fans and grills etc - this is why you see a lot of cars now coming out with so called new designs and the only real change is the front where you will see a larger grill eg Audi
The engines run hotter to burn as much fuel/waste as energy before it is sent out the exhaust.

The Stotz doesn't have the Tier 3 bonnet.
Was a bit bored today so I went into the loft and checked all my UH against the list above. Was surprised by the number of model variations I have (a variation is the combination of model/reference nimber/packaging). I have 120 UH model variations now.
One you can add to your list is a Renault Celtis 456 RX Front Weights and Front Mudguards.
Re. the Stotz - mines got the 3 tier bonnet - if that means it has the extra grill in the side panel?
456 do you have both versions in orange - any chance of a picture? I know the did the claas in both but I was assured by a dealer they never did the renault 456 with mud guards.
do you have pictures of the Stotz? could you confirm if you haver the L shaped extra grill on the side?
I like to confirm my list with pictures or my own collection as I have hunted for models in the past to find that they were never made and someone had seen a convo. It would be great if you could confirm the above to find out if I have to hunt for even more!!
Cheers

Just found out there is a Renault 925RZ Atles so included on the list - have seen pictures to confirm

The top of the HP range valtra Ts are that purple colour a neighbour of mine has one hauling stone. The long nose in the giveaway.
I didn't think colour represented horse power? you just buy a tractor a choose a colour when ordering. The red metalic red is Valtras standard colour, so if you don't specify on order then you get red.

Ah ha... I see... but wouldn't it still be needed - why not make on in Stainless Steel then \
Ironically the salt kit for a vari spreader is with a short stainless spout on the real thing as the plastic ones would wear away with the grit. The reason for it being short is salt is normally spread 2-6m max whereas the long plastic spout is for 12m spread on the farm model.
They did do a wheeled version at the time, but the model is a little deceiving as the spout is driven by the axle for the purpose of the model, but if you look carefully there is representation of a pto drive on the front minus pto (good old britains) which is how this worked in the real world. Its model munber is the Varispreader MK11

100% agree - its up to us to make it work - we should have a area on the forum to put down what we want to see to help Jullian in his format in the future issues.
I know between all of us with various areas of interest (eg brands, conversions, farm layouts etc) we could help this become a cracking magazine.

Was having an inspection of my one and only UH (Cow Valtra) I thought I would ask.
Are all the hitches the same on all the models? I think the Valtra was one of the first to be made and I know this is more of a display model than a toy but the hitch on it is crap. It is really loose and can hardly be used at all. The Britains ones are complained about alot but they are miles better than this one.
UH models are really for display due to small parts - but they did change from using a detailed hitch, to a britains hitch to allow the few who like to play with them you will find that all the tractors now come with Britains hitch but I can't tell you the first tractor sorry

:D - I've just petrol bombed his house Brian
Really a 1/4 page ???
It does make you smile when you read the article below it - discussing the forthcoming auction in Sussex on Mon 20th November!
He does appologise for the delay and asks for any feedback or article that may interest readers - I hope this will lead to good interation from the FTF members as most of his readers are on here and you all have great collections, conversions and businesses that people would like to know more about.
-
I thought I best say it is correct at ?45 before you ring up and boll**k him!!
-
Is the Yellow MF in it then - Julian asked me to advertise... but he wanted WAY to much money for the current circulation in my opinion... so I declined
You've got Quarter page - it gives mid summer details and Price - I hope its printing error at ?25

:D
I think we'll only need Ros and UH soon :o Ok maybe Siku too, we'd be lost without all the Lim Etd Fendts :
totally agree!
Unfortunalty Britains Vaderstad won't be as great, they make toys to play with not display only items like UH
It most probably will look great but will lack a lot of detail
-
It's not the same as the TM it's the same as the TL or 6635 model......It was produced for the Turkish market by Britains but there are a fair few over here......The stickers on the boxes also are translated into Turkish......The model isn't really a great likeness of the real TDD tractor but none-the-less probably worth a bit more than the average TL or 6635...... :)
Thanks for that :) - Sorry for the lack of knowledge on Britains but I don't follow them any more.
-
Are these good prices??
UH Implement Trailer : ?18.50
UH Prosol P4.180 Power Harrow : ?16.75
My mate has just joined last night - His name is BIGBUD - he has them at that price and he's got a few
he also has BigBuds, dealer boxed britains like Magnums etc Ltd JD's and a lot of rare stuff. UH Valtra cow print, claas, silver. Fendt Petrol blues and oranges, Siku Red fendts.
Also he has a Britains NH TD tractor - its looks the same as a TM with TD instead - does anyone know any history on it (NH Box)
-
yes The sides on the model open as well as the rear door, the detailing is very good and up to UH standards as are the otther new tractors they have introduce. All my stock was in last week and i'm very impressed with ROS these days
Have Ros made it easy to identify these higher quality models via there boxes - eg like Britains Elite
I was certain that UH was for me and have every thing they made to date, but I have decided that these ROS models are the same quality. I would like to collect these but are the Joskin harrow and baler the first of this type or has Ros produced other high quality models. (comparable to UH)
-
speechless!!!
Why do you buy duplicates? do you break them or keep them to sell in the future?
-
HI.
I have this picture there it is, almost
Great picture
I don't think were disputing the trailer but we are disputing it was ever fitted with silage sides
-
I know of a contractor who got rid of two self propelled outfits and bought three Pottinger Silage Wagons for his grass silage business.
He kept one SPFH for harvesting maize and he uses the Pottingers for carting it. The main advantage of the wagins is their low ground pressure compared to normal silage trailers.
I haev been told of another contractor who hires in silage wagons as trailers for maize when the going gets very wet.
Its good to hear some real life situation spn :)- Visiting a lot of farmers each day, I see many different systems used which are different to the norm.
re. to your comments - I understand what your saying if you have an old one to use, as the secondhand price for this machine would probably work out better to keep them as trailers - but if you were buying new and only wanted low ground pressure you would buy a trailer with low ground pressure tyres as a trailer is a lot lighter than a forage wagon - are you sure they don't use the forage wagons for there purpose in grass and then utilise them as trailers for the maize? This would explain why he bought them.
I found it interesting to hear that you local farmer uses hired forage wagons as trailers, if the top is covered in rope does he remove them?
-
This can't be right?
Before anyone says I picking on it - im not - but there can't be such a thing ever produced just to use as a silage trailer. A farmer would be destroying a ?50,000+ machine and turning it into a ?12,000 trailer!
New Claas Quadrant baler
in Universal Hobbies Models
Posted
A standard Quadrant could run as little as 130Hp but to be man of the machine 150hp +
This new baler is larger with a 1m x 1m chamber and a new packing system - I've been told it needs some horses to make it go!
