    JD 8420t

Was heading to a job today and seen this jd at the dealers yard. It's still a rare sight seeing a tracked machine in Westren Australia they still like there big artic machines. The salesman said that this is only the second one they'ed had and it had just come back from a country show where they were trying to promote tracked machines. He said that there was a lot of interest and questions about them so he's just waiting for the phone to ring and start selling. I didn't ask how much it was going for.
  2. I'am having it all shipped over in a container costing about 3000 pounds, Thats with all of the furniture as well. I might try and get a few croc's in there as well and start my own croc farm when I get back eh, They make good guard dog/things nobody will nick your quad if he is tied to it.
  3. Yep thats right just down the road. When I came to Australia it was about a year later I was told I was not allowed any clothes or foot wear which had been used or near any farm, Well **** that was every thing, So I arrived here with one pair of new shoes and one set of new clothes. I was just about washed head to toe in disinfectant when I stepped on ozzy soil. But we were lucky we didn't get foot and mouth, There was six farms left around us who were saved as well.
  4. Sorry haven't got back to you sooner FB, It was to hot to walk down to the shop for some batteries at the weekend, 37 degrees so I just lazed in the pool all day. I took these for you I don't know if they are any good to you, The camera is just a cheap one with no zoom. I'am heading back home to a little town called Hexham which is in Northumberland, Half way between Carlisle and Newcastle, I think I'am in for a shock due to the tempretures you have been having lately and getting used to seeing mud again.
  5. Sorry FB the bloody batterys have kaput on the camera, I'll try and get out tomorrow and get some, Did you what some photos from the other side of the ladders?. Thanks for that Deere-est once I get back to the uk I hope to rebuild the farm and do what you suggested but it all depends on space, Haven't even got a house or a job yet.
  6. I'll take some pics tomorrow night Fergie boy. And it is 42 cm without the base Britfarmer.
  7. I made two cuts with the saw and with a very corse wood file to get the slope
  8. Well I took you's advice and this is what I came up with, A bit of chipboard and a splash of paint with a dusting of the green stuff.
  9. Thanks for the ideas will have a go at the base, It came with a cheap farm set called Country life. First time I've seen a one with a silo tower in it.
  10. Hi, I bought this silo tower today and I have put it next to the drier shed but Ia'm not too sure ehh, It seems to need something I haven't seen a tower close up so Ia'm not too sure what. A auger from the shed, A base for it. You guys will be able to tell me. I will be pulling the whole lot down in about a months time because Ia'm moving back to the uk, So I haven't got much time left. Cheers Richie.
  11. Hi, Yes u's are right it's a bobard 72-53 I think there is some bits missing off it, I got it with a box of Britains stuff at a toy fair over here (oz) about two weeks ago the guy wanted $100 (40 pounds) and I went back at the end of the show and he still had it so we came to a deal and got the lot for $50. Bargain or what You could pay that just for two of these items on ebay, He said he brought them with them when they emigraited but his son didn't play with them that is how they are in such good nick, There is a green eight wheeled trailer as well but forgot to put in the picture. It would be good if any one has a bobard and took a picture too see whats missing. Thanks.
  12. Hi there, Have been so impressed with all these conversions I thought I would have a little go. As I've said before finding 1/32 scale farm stuff here is very hard to find so when I found a cheap Country farm set for $10 ( about 4 pounds ) with seven different implements in I thought this is a good chance to have a go at conversions and if it goes wrong it's only ten dollars. So this is my attempt at a combination drill, With a bit of cutting, drilling, clueing and painting, The only thing which is wrong is the power harrow is not the same width as the drill, but hey the right camera angle and you can't tell ( well not too much).
  13. Yep they are hand draulics tractorman,Ha thats right FBI.
  14. Hi, Well I have been looking around to see what I could use for the loader stands and guess what? Not much the only thing I came up with is some good old Kebab sticks, I filed them down abit and pushed them up into main rams but I still think they are a bit to thick still, if they were painted they might not look to bad. Once the loader is on they push forward up against the frame.Any idea's lads.
  15. Hi, Thanks for the photo Ricky. Not too sure how Iam going to fit the legs yet, I will have to see what bits is laying around.
  16. One more, Now need to work out how to fix some legs to it.
  17. Hi there guy's, I thought I would have a go at not as much as a conversion more a modification to my Fendt 716. I wanted to use the tractor without the loader but also be able to put it on without to much fiddling about. So I took the tractor apart and cut the two bars whiched kept the loader in place. Then cut the pins down to size so they just go through the holes in the side of the bonnet so it stays in place. If you uderstand what all that meant then your good. Hopefully photos will explain.
  18. I got some more info on this disc plough today, I was with my boss today and we passed the place were the plough was and I asked if he know any thing about them. He was saying that he used to use them in the 90's, This one is made buy International and that they used to be very popular here in Western Australia. He said this one is a small one and that he used to pull two thirty disc ploughs behind a Versatile artic pushing out 300 hp. The soil here is very sandy and they were right for the conditions but now every one is now on single pass so they became useless and now are worth only scrap money. He said he might have a photo of him using them so we'll wait and see
  19. Thanks for all the info lads, It looks as if it was one of these implements that didn't work. That is why I hadn't seen one before and explains why the disc's are not worn. Tried one pass and put too the back of the yard.
  20. Yep I live in Oz in Perth on the west side
  21. This was there as well I think it is a bale elevator?? Here in western Australia I have not seen a bale sledge or flat eight system they just let the bales drop out the back of the baler so you have all these single bales lying all over the field, (sorry they are called paddocks here.) and I think they use this to go round the field and load up the trailers one at a time. It seems like a time consuming job to me, But saying that there is no rush to get them in before the rain comes, Sometimes we dont see rain here for 3 months or more.
  22. Another one from the back.
  23. HI there lads, I was going past this engineer works and seen this, well I think you would call it a disc plough. I have not seen anything like it before Ia'm not to sure if it is a conversion or been built from the factory. It has no name on it and it doesn't look as if it has been used very much just looking at the disc's they are hardly worn. It's in a bit of a state but some new tyres and a splash of paint who knows. Have any of you's lot seen one of these before.
  24. Hi guys, Well I finished the hayshed it has turned out not too bad, I could not get some gray slate brickpaper so had to paint it but I managed to get some stone paper it took a visit to two shops to get enough.I think this is going to be the last pictures of my farm for a while I'am running out of ideas and spare time to build anything else. But I will be looking forward to seeing more of your farms. Keep them coming lads.
