  1. Well at that price for 10 rolls is amazing, I'll be paying that for one I bet.
  2. Wow!!!! Old Ford how many hills are you doing. Iam heading to my local model shop to buy one thats all I hopefully need. I'am trying to decide what I should do for my jard, ie material, colour I would like to put something down instead of just painting the board?...........
  3. Yeah thats all you need, You might have to put two layers on, depends on the surface if it's smooth you might get away with one. Cut a length about 6 to 12 inches dip it in water place on surface and just smooth over with your fingers. Its just the same stuff they use on your broken arms, legs etc. Its great stuff Its all I use.
  4. Sorry old ford, newspaper taped down and then plastercloth over the top
  5. It is bl--dy freezing old ford thats why building the farm is going slow.
  6. Sorry about the pics the colour is a bit faint. I'am using a 500w outdoor light and you could say its a bit bright up in the loft.
  7. Just thought I would send these pics in on how the farm is getting on. I'am moving everything off the board, Have marked out were things is going and I have started putting a ditch along side the road. Not too sure if its going to work out properly but will finish it first and see. I'am not working to a plan just as it comes to mind.
  8. You have some very nice detail there, I like that alot, Yeh please show us more.
  9. When I asked him he said that it was 40ft, The last one he had had a 36 on and when this one turned up he thought it was the same so he'd got the tape out and checked because he had ordered a 40 ft. He said he will be changing in a couple of years and he said they should have a 42ft by then. Yeh I see what you mean by it's to one side, had'nt noticed that before Nigel. I'll have a look at the other ones for you mx driver to see if theres any of the straw chopper. Does'nt most of the Australias and Americans combines have these short back ends cause they dont have straw walkers just the choppers?.
  10. Just a couple of photos of my day farming in West Australia last year. Igot a new programme to reduce photo size thats why they are a bit late. The combine is a 9680 with 40ft header, the tractor I'am not too sure he said it was there smallest and was only 230 hp, With a 16 ton chaser bin.
  11. Sorry about two the same.
  12. Well I've been up into the loft and I dont think I can get the scalextric to run with the farm. The beams are slightly in the way, The loft is set in like four sections, It is going to take a bit of work and money to do it. Before I built the farm on this board iI built a scalextric track on it , If only I had more room and thought about it I could have done that. here are some photos before I pulled it apart.
  13. Its a door handle from a kitchen cupboard cut in half.
  14. Yes thats a good idea it would look good. I would have to have the board at the same height and have a access hole in the middle just in case of any off's ( with my driving there will be ) Ihave all the scenery ie grandstands, bridges and trees. Ia'm not too sure about the motors in the tractors Ihaven't got the know how for that. It might be a first having a tractor grand prix eh, Iam off into the loft with my tape and doing a few calculations. Thanks for that Tris.
  15. Thanks for the comments. Yes everything was alright not even a mirror or a chip of paint off. All that extra packing I put in payed off. There is a bit of room to expand but my son wants to put his scalextric and a train set up here as well, Kids eh they just spoll all your plans. Saying that can't wait to have the scalextric down either, But don't tell him that. I had another look at the farm today and I think it's the only way I can fit everything on this size board. So now I'll start painting the board and putting the lights in. Will keep you's updated on the progress.
  16. Here are some pics of my farm layout, I 'am still not that happy with it. The buildings are all in a line!!!!!!!!!!! Iv'e tried moving them around a bit but they don't just fit in. Might have a think and try again over the weekend. Any suggestions welcome.
  17. Hi There, Took this before I headed back to the uk, He was picking the third tralier up 70 klm's out of the city. It was going to take him 36 hours none stop driving to get to a place called Port Hedland which is up north, He said he might stop for 1/2 hour for loo, They often take gear just to stop them nodding off. One road they use and I've driven on it and you can sit there for about 5 hours without turning the wheel. It's a lonely life being a truck driver here. I forgot to ask him how many sheep he would have on with all three traliers, Any one out there have a guess?
