  1. you keep the door on the end more closed so the augar cuts them up so they come out in small bits. and if you add milk and eggs and butter you get a lovely mash :D :D
  2. now why couldn't britains use that cab on the newt6070 tractors \ thats a great little conversion the mf skid unit sets if off nicely. was there much cutting to do or was it easy to do
  3. i've used an augar one for feeding fodder beet , had it on the back of a case 4230. it worked very well . trying to get my mate to get one for feeding spuds to his cows and pigs as the local spuds chap sells the waste spuds £36 for a 16 t trailer full
  4. thats a great looking model i must say ,
  5. linkage looks fine mate too close and you wouldn't get anything on it.
  6. nice little conversion there mate . some nice little touches
  7. colin stallard is the chaps name, martins lad . not sure where it went over. i haven't seen him yet to take the mic yet . lucky being a contractor they had another baler in the yard. it took 4 days for another new one to turn up mind.
  8. we use to put our foot on the higher side brake to stop the wheel spinning . but you do have to have your wits about when working steep ground , a friend of mine turned over a brand new baler a few days ago £51,000 in a heap at the bottom of the field , they say he was going to fast across the hill , good job the hitch on his mx went bang or the lot could of gone over,
  9. just needs some guttering now comming on a treat mate
  10. get in line tim :D, and someone told me some chap from cornwall has gone bust and i think he might do westpoint . will be intresting to see how many people turn up.
  11. the box looks as big as the vaderstad drill , so its a big old model
  12. was thinking the same , what a size ,
  13. yes its here waiting for you tim will bring it up. everyone is a little strapped at the moment , one dealer i spoke to has a load of stock he has to dump so he can pay his bill at the wholesalers he said i ordered less than lass year too and he has 2/3s of his stock left.
  14. best get there before tim then as he always finds the bargins
  15. well its that time again in devon .who going and whos not. the next one after that will be in november .
  16. modbury now gardening now too. i left farming about 15 yrs ago but have had the odd spell working at harvest time and a spell at riverford organic at totnes in the workshop. i use to work for john tucker at bigbury on sea when i had the YTS trip to your farm . gordon case and peter hoskin were in my group
  17. i've been to your farm before mate on a YTS trip between 88 and 90
  18. yeah they are a bit steep there mate.well most the fields are steep around these parts sean they get alot worst out towards prawle thats the other side of salcombe , a family out there called the tuckers have fields that they combine that most people won't drive a tractor in. i used to work for one of the brothers that lived in bigbury on sea and when i was 17 i was combining a steep field in a JD1065h i was told not to lift the header up as the rear wheels weren't on the ground and to steer using the brakes.i use to put my feet on the window to keep me in the seat . but his brothers out at prawle are mental they combine across the hill in there JD1065H with narrow tyres . they have been known to keep the spout out and full of corn to give they more weight on the higher side. and there on the cliff too. theres an ihc down in the river where it went over the cliff.tractor wise it was a case of not if it had been over but how many times its been over.thats the joys of living in devon i suppose
  19. got to be carefull down there mate its pikey central down there, lots of cctv down there.
  20. yeah thats it mate camp site is across the road from it.
  21. at a place called sorley cross just outside kingsbridge sean, there was over a hundred tractors there mate.
  22. down this way the local dealership for case was selling the mx 110 with a bigger fuel pump from the mx170 as it was cheaper way of doing it. they sold loads of mx110's .even people that had only bought JD and fords and mf's were buying them. too much of a good deal. it is funny to watch a mx110 on a big baler and a mtx 150 on a wrapper.
  23. was a great couple of days for everyone plus with the campsite on site and the beer tent open till late it can't be bad
