Nice work Jack.
But a little piece of advice: make yourself an easy Spray Booth. A large cardboard box for instance will do nicly, and your overspray will not travel your whole room.......
Good luck!!

Europe being very protective of the IH tractors that they built at the time? Wouldn´t the same go the other way around then? Think it had more to do with that IH decided which tractors were best suited for and went to which market. For example the 40-series were produced in Doncaster but never made it to the UK market afaik.
Here in Holland we had both German and British, not sure if we also had French. WHITESNAKE01 might be able to tell more. Sorry to say, but British IH did not have a good reputation here. The Germans far outsold the British. BTW the British, now from Basildon, still supply the Doncaster markets. The Germans lost in the end. (`Don´t mention the war´ 😄)
Hi,
I mostly agree with you New Hollander.
I've worked for the importing company for about 8 years, and saw the quality of the German models decreasing after the production line was moved from Neuss Germany to Doncaster. This of course was because Neuss had to produce the new Maxxum-series.
The story went that for instance the XL-cabs, made in France originally, had to cross the North Sea channel twice, and due to that, they already were rusting at arrival. A couple of employees from Doncaster came to fix up the cabs, to get rid of the rust..............Salty water and metal sheet clearly don't match........
About sales-numbers: we sold the '85-series, which evolved to the '95-series, and later on to the 3200 and 4200-series. But numbers didn't came anywhere selling numbers of the German versions. Even though the U.K.-tractors were quite cheaper.......
Reading a lot of posts here on this forum has made me frown my eyebrows regularly 'cause i've seen type-numbers getting by which even i didn't know existed......
Probably older typenumbers from pre-'85-series era.
No hard feelings to the U.K. though, but i asume a manufacturer of scalemodels, like U.H. for instance, tries to get salesnumbers as high as possible, so wil aim for a large market. And that is simply the world-market.We will see what happens. As long as there is movement, we should not loose hope!!
Have a nice day!

Hi all,
Again, too my regret, it's the French built cab...........
I would really appreciate a German cab!!!
The 1055 i've tried to adjust to the German-version, but that wasn't easy.
Making it a two-wheel-drive was the easiest part of the job though........ seeing them making a two-wheel-drive themself now.........
Just keep on hoping, fingers crossed!BR

Hi all,
Got myself a new project: Caterpillar 950, scale 1:25, diecast.
Needs new color, and of course, a cabin, which i will make scratch.
Started off some time ago, trying to find time for it, in between lots of other activities.
Some pictures for a start:Proto-type cabin, made of cardboard.
Looks quite nice with the color on!
Have a nice day!

Nice conversion Jan, I like you also added some details to it. Did all the plastic parts come off easily without snapping in half after 40+ years?
Hi Hajo (and others),
Thank you for your replies. I indeed like to make models more special by adding details. This is what distinguishes them from the rest.
The plastic parts indeed came off without any problem, always being careful with such activities may help.... 😉

Hi all,
I purchased myself a used seeder from Britains, the one probably well known, but not in my collection as a kid, i saw a whole lot of similarities between the original brand (Nordsten) and the one i was familiar to, Fiona, as i've worked for a Dutch importing-company which had this in its assortment.
So, goal was to try to make a copy of a Fiona seeder, based on the Nordsten.Making new decals was quite easy, and a new layer of paint and laquer also.
So i will only show you the results:It's a bit blurry, but goal is to show you the knob for setting the right seeding-distance.
Hope you like it!?
Best regards,

I paid decent money for a conversion with a lot of history, and provenance that was converted just over 40 years ago, and has become the oldest custom converted model in my collection. Can't imagine there being too many home computers/PCs or software capable of printing accurate decals back in the early eighties either. I'm absolutely delighted with it, and very pleased to have it sat in my collection.
Hello David,
Whenever i've offended you, than i'm terribly sorry!!
I didn't know the age of the model with the hand-written decals, and you have a good point there, saying in the early eighties probably no-one even had a personal computer. However, it occurd to me that they were hand-written, and somehow it detracts a bit from the obviously very nice scale model. No hard feelings though!!

Hi all,
Thanks for your contributions to this Topic!
I'm sorry to say David, but i hope you didn't pay a lot for a model with "hand-written decals".................
(i don't mean the Tyro-version!).I surely would be blown away when someone would've tried to sell me such a model.
I absolutely understand there is hardly any model of the Fiat 44-series, at least not made in higher numbers, but since this may drive prices up, one may for sure expect some quality. In my humble opinion, that is.BR
Jan -
Indeed. i saw this model at the Hardenberg show yesterday. But the price simply didn't suite me........
So i will try to find me a Versatile, and adapt it myself to a Fiat 44-version.
Besides it might be much cheaper, and it's just a lot of fun to do yourself!@catkom3: The 950 on singles also "popped-up" when i did a search on the internet, but the Twin-wheels in my opinion makes the model just that bit nicer!
Have a nice day!

Hi all,
As seen on the website of the National Farm Toy Museum at Dyersville USA, i saw this beautifull model of a Versatile 950, articulated tractor.
This one would suite me perfect, but may be transformed to one of the Fiat-versions of the 44-series, produced by Versatile back in the '80's.
Does anybody know whether this model will be released, and if so: will it come to the European market as well??Here's a link to their website, showing the model:

Hi all,
Many thanks for this!
The only reason i still didn't buy me the 135 was the round mudguards: haven't seen any of these in my youth..........
So i decided not to purchase one before i was able to find some decent square mudguards.
And there they are!!! Beautifull!! 👌👍Best regards,

Left cabin is the cabin from the CaseIH 956XL made by Ertl.
Middle one seems to me being a cabin of a Belarus 80 or 100.....
Right one....................no clue at all..............BR

No pictures on the box, to answer your question?
And otherwise: try searching the WWW with the article# and the name of the manufacturer.BR

Dutch L.C.N. Regional Tradefair
in Events and Shows
Posted · Edited by WHITESNAKE01
Hi all,
Today, Saturday January 14, 2023, there was a small regional Trade-fair of the Dutch Farm Toys Club, L.C.N.
This was held at the "Polder Pioneers Foundation", who owns a growing collection of old farm machinery and tractors which were used by the "Government Service for the IJsselmeer-polders", abbreviated to R.IJ.P. in the early days. This used to be the government-company that developed and constructed the polders in the former "Zuyderzee", today called IJsselmeer.
The fair itself was quite small, some nice models and diorama's there, but of course it is a special occasion on itself to see old equipment from the R.IJ.P.
Some members of the foundation are even old-employees of the R.IJ.P.
Since i became a donor of this foundation, i've visited the site before.
When you like to take a look at their activities, look at their website: https://www.stichtingpolderpioniers.nl/
To give you an impresion of the fair i took some pictures, as showed underneath:
Have a nice weekend!
