have you been in there lately?, was in the Cambridge one today and the selection has gone down hill!!.....now only the horsebox and range rover!

looks great so far....and your further than me on my 3rd build!! :D :D as for the base size thinkness, not sure what you can get but i found 4.5mm a little bit flimsy \ and went for 6mm for mine, felt stronger, i wouldn't worry, some people go for even thicker! I didnt drill holes either on my first 2, mainly as it was built before they were introduced on here!, just set out and glued to the board, the next larger one i will as it gives you more support.....trust me its a pain to get the uprights straight! ;D Once mine was all framed up with bracing and purlins, i just sprayed the entire lot grey, even the wood base, stuck on the cladding, masked out they lower section and sprayed it green. the lights should flash when you turn it on for a few seconds. try seeing if the channel on bottom of tractor matches the controller and that the battery is fully charged

As Sean said, coffee is great, i've seen bags of used coffee at a local starbucks ;D ;D , they gave it away free for composting. If you ask they may still do it or keep it behind for you to collect??

I'm still in hiding from the early years!!! for me finally....and all red!! ;D 2 LCN Masseys, the Siku normal version of the MF beast and the old 5455 with loader and newer bracket....tempted by some of the UH masseys.....but that's was enough for now! :D
