  1. I have an MC135 on spud carting and it is completely gutless under load, another person has an MTX140 carting and that is worse still, we both have identical trailers, the tractors just won't pull. The powershift on the MTX is abysmal with a delay between changes which means the harvester has to stop when he does change gear. The MTX where I used to work had the gearbox go bang at two years old. McCormick took what was a basic but good tractor and cheapened it. The dealer here, well one of them took on McCormick when they loct Case and pushed them hard, they are cheap and are worth very little a few years down the line. Build quality leaves a lot to be desired, the paint is already coming off parts of our MC at 1 year old :-\

Funny you say that gav, ive been talking to ol and he was telling me the paint on his JD6820 was falling of allreay with around 1000hrs on the clock, My father inlaws Mxu 110 is in the shop having a repaint and its a 05 model  ??? ??? ???

  2. hes not a a deale, im running the 8120 with front links this seson on the stack, the loader tractor is a 7920 ;) i call it a quary loader, he just says its handy, Its the first loader ive been near that i can stand under the arms with it on the ground and not hit my head  :o  She is a monster

  3. There's a lot of broken down John Deeres in that workshop, no wonderit's so big.

The "broken down" ones in the shop had siezed drop arms for the linkage, And they were TIGHT, got them sorted tho,the 2 in the yard are doners or were atleast, other wise every thing else works like a clock

About the pick ups im not sure, i know the maize ones are 8 rows, ill have to ask about the pick ups

  4. Heavens To Betsy.... how big is the workshop then :o

And what sort of business is it (assuming it's not a private workshop with a big tractor collection) ???

He is a silage contractor, he also has 4 or 5 older jds, (ill get some pics later this week) and a class 8700 mower, there is a jcb tele handler, ill try get some pics of every thing,

Yes that is a waikato plant, i personaly dont like it, i have allways used milka ware plant and never had issues with it, My inlaws have a 32 bail internal rotary, i have a friend milking in a 80bail rotary also, Our calves go oustide after 6 weeks in the shed,

Yes our cows are out side all year, we never get snow here and the lowest temp we get normaly is -5deg but thats just at night,

Thanks for the nice comments guys glad you enjoyed them ill get more pics of around the farm as i work today

  6. Why don't you want claves form 1st calvers and what is EG jersey?

    Texas

Eg is short for example, Jersey is a breed of cow, we run Fresion crossbreed with jerseys, and pure fresions, The rason we dont keep calves from 1st calvers is becouse we use small bulls to get small calves to make it a easy calving on the cow, these calves genrely dont have very good breeding worth and a not any good for milking from, That explain it mate?

  7. Do you sell for the veal market?

Yes and no, We send our 4 day old calves we dont want Eg Jersey or calves form 1st calvers  on the boby lorry So yes we sell to the veal market but then we dont if you know what i mean ???

  8. Thanks for the info. But a question: to feed calves this way don't you get problems later with the calves that when they don't get milk anymore they go to drink by each other. i hope you understand what i mean.

    Texas

I know what you mean mate, starngely enough no we dont get those problems, we get those problems when we feed them daily ( only one or 2 calves a year) So far we havent had any yet thos year ,they just suck on one calves ears and they go all ******, We are giving shed calves milk, water and meal the outside calves are getting milk meal water and grass,
