  1. Spect that's got something to do with being in control of something with a big dangly thing, after all no man would measure up to that, would they . Apparently riding them bareback has the same effect as chocolate on a woman. ;D . can you picture it------horse doing 70 mph down hill being ridden by a woman with a crazed look on her face, riding hat on back to front and her foaming at the mouth.
  2. Took my stepdaughter to Horsham to buy a second hand chocolate fountain!! Nine hundred and fifty quids worth. :o You should see the price of new ones. Some of them are over two thousand quid. 'Kin ell. :o She's going to rent it out at weddings and use it for shows etc. I cant see the attraction myself, but you know what women are like when it comes to chocolate------- orgasmic is the word. Shoe shops seem to have the same effect on them too.
  3. Did anyone take the trouble to have a good read of the website www.predictweather.com? If you did, what do you think about their comments and version of what is happening to our weather? As a non believer in the global warning phenomena, I found their explanation of things to be very logical. I also had hoped that some of you would have read it and perhaps passed comment so we could get an interesting discusion going, to find out what our members really think. Us Brits are often too ready to accept what the so called experts tell us, regardless of their motives. At the end of the day, every time we hear about global warming from the media, it all comes down to one thing, and that being, we are eventually going to foot the bill. All we hear about is governments talking about fining large energy producers for the level of their carbon emissions. All they will do is pass on the cost to us!!!! I eagerly await your comments!! (First Numpty of the year 2007 ) Still, at least my spelling is pretty good.
  4. Well done that man. Its a lot to read, but well worth it. Catch ya later!
  5. This should get a good discussion going. Have any of you ever visited the web site www.predictweather.com. It is about long term weather forecasts, global warming, rising sea levels and particularly the ozone layer and the supposed holes in it. It has a very logical approach about the whole matter and completely rubbishes the "Spin" of our so called governments who are using the phenomena as a crafty way of bringing in (stealth tax ) fines to protect the environment. It asks, how do gases heavier than air get into the Earths upper atmosphere, why is it there are always two holes in the Earths ozone layer, one over each of the earths poles. one of which increases in size while the other decreases. It discusses the El Ninio effect of sea currents which affect our weather in a seven year cycle. Something else the governments forget to mention. Rising sea levels. One for Tris here. Did you know that the sea levels are rising in southern New Zealand, but in the North they are falling. Nothing to do with sea levels, the whole place is tilting towards the south like a giant see-saw!!!!!! Please read it and you will realise we are being conned into paying more for everything. Don't get me wrong I'm all in favour of protecting our environment by recycling (Wombling) and preserving fossil fuels. Why are governments seeming to actively discourage the growth of renewable energy, and bio fuels in particular. Why, because they are afraid pressure will be put on them to reduce taxes on things like bio fuels. They arent interested in the environment at all. Its all "Spin" Well I'm all wound up again, so I'm going to drink my coffee now and wait to see what you think once you've read it too. >
  6. I'd love to see your tacho for today. I bet thats interesting reading!! Do you work under the working time directive or are you exempt as you carry cattle feed. We are restricted to an average of 48 hours per week calculated over a 26 week period. My average was 46.55 for the last six months of last year. Just as well the last seven days of holiday time don't count as working hours otherwise I would have had to do some very short days to compensate. B----y European laws. We still have to abide by the European drivers hours regulations too
  7. Had a lazy day yesterday and ended up watching the DVD called cars. It was great, and if you haven't seen it I suggest you send the kids to bed and really enjoy it. You will like the bit where the little rcovery truck takes Speed Mc Queen out tractor tipping. The tractors appear to be cows and when they are frightened , they rear up and tip over backwards, then they get chased off by Frank the Mad combine. It has a very good storyline with a lot of detail in the vehicles, and hidden humour to keep adults amused. I liked the insects that were flying around in one part, they were tiny Volkswagen Beetles with wings. :D Couldn't tell you about it yesterday, cos Mrs gets annoyed at the amount of time I spend on the puter, especially FTF. So what, its entertaining, free and you never know what or who you might come across when on this web site. Sadly she doesn't share my interest in farming, farm toys, farm machinery, or trucks and thinks that at the age of fifty four, its about time I grew up. Pah!! No way!!
  8. Nothing worse than the trots when you are stuck in traffic. Best buy one of those butt plug thingys. Make it a big one otherwise it might be like firing a rubber bullet. Never mind, give it a couple of days and you'll soon be farting confidently again.
  9. Delivered 27000 litres of petrol and 12500 litres of derv to seven forecourts. Just hope I put it all in the right tanks.. Yeh, I'm sure I did.
  10. 'kin idiots riding bikes (Pedal) in the dark with no lights on them at all. Meeting the silly twats at traffic islands and trying to avoid them with 41 tons of tanker. A lot of them are adults too, I wonder who their families would blame in the event of their death. They owe it to their wives and children to at least wear something reflective. How much does a reflective vest cost for Gods sake! I don't understand parents who let their children deliver papers in the dark without reflective clothing and lights. Do they not care about their children either! I honestly think its about time the police had a big crackdown on cyclists and their bikes roadworthiness. I dont want my driving career cut short by a mindless moron. The other thing today was a stupid woman driving a pony and one of those things with a seat on it, on bicycle wheels driving down a busy road. I was on a steep hill and the pony went nuts as I had to brake going past it, and releasing the brakes caused a rush of air from the trailer. I was the one that got the dirty look!! > >
  11. Or possibly a hay/straw carrier version with a platform above the cab and a trailer with hay ladders fitted. Oh to be able to make hundreds of realistic looking bales. There has to be something better than hard plastic.
  12. Trouble with fog like that, is when you've been going round the field and can't quite remember where the gate was, so you have to drive round the outside until it appears.
  13. Got to work this morning at 2am, checked over and started up my tanker only to discover that the airlines were frozen and couldn't build up the air or get the brakes off. Spent an hour and a quarter defrosting the brakes, ended up putting a long flexi pipe from one of our Fodens exhaust, to thaw it out. Drove up to Essex in freezing fog, had eyes like a bloody snail when I got there, visibility was about 20 metres in places. Came back with a load of heating oil, loaded our other tankers and went out delivering to houses after viewing the damage our new driver did to the side of a tanker, after scraping it along a very substantial brick gate pillar. Not pretty!! :'( Mended the throttle cable after it snapped on the truck I was using for deliveries. Went Christmas shopping at Argos. NOT A LOT REALLY!!
  14. Talking of fireworks, if they were like the ones I had this year, particularly the rockets, someone should have peed on them. We had three the first one hit the window of the house behind us and the flares exploded next to the frame leaving burn marks on it, the second just missed our roof and the third one went over our garage and exploded in the road behind it. Anyway enough bulls hit. Nice to see your conversion is on the move again and I look forward to seeing more of it. Maybe I'll get round to starting mine soon given time. Keep us updated. Don't worry mine will be different from yours as I'm going to have a stab at fitting rear steer!
  15. L.O. its Will. Bin Finkin. Firstly a belated thank you for putting the pictures on this brilliant site. Yes, I would like one for christmas. Just a couple of ideas, one you could paint the body silver with a beige roof (Transluscent fibreglass) so it looks like an aluminium one and just to get it through the M.O.T. test it will need side guards and mud flaps which will make it look really up to date. A shortened bale trailer would look good on the back as they are on super single wheels and you could also shorten another stock body to fit. Reckon that would look pretty good. Whatya fink?
  16. When it comes to refitting them, they simply slot over the rivets again so they are perfectly located and again, glue them in place with epoxy adhesive. (make sure the surfaces to be glued are paint free). Don't try to use those hideous allen bolts, cos they spoil the look of the tractor. This is the gospel according to Will. I recently restored My DDN Super Major and, dare I say, slightly modified it by fitting 14x30 rears and picking out a little more detail like fan belts and hoses bonnet catches etc. For my first attempt; I'm pleased with the result. I brush painted mine and the paintwork is really good. Good luck. I'm no expert just trying to be helpful and no doubt others may be able to give you some better advice. I may learn something too!
  17. You will find all the parts you need and more from www.farmmodels.co.uk. If the rear linkage is ok and you don't want to split the tractor in half; it is possible to replace the steering wheel on the column by drilling the column after cutting off the old one. Then gluing the new one on using a suitable epoxy adhesive. Don't cut off the old one till you have the new one! Ford tractor blue and grey paint is available from what are now New Holland dealers and is available in litre tins for brushing on, or aerosol cans of spray paint. The brush on paint covers beautifully if you do it in a cold place as it dries quite slowly and all the brush marks will virtually disappear. The rear wings on these are rivetted on to the base unit and if you want to remove them so they refit perfectly; the best method I've found is to buy a pack of what are known as needle files, (Miniature ones) carefully file off the rivet heads and after removing the axle shaft; gently prise them away from the skid unit. when they are off they can be painted separately to give a professional look to the job.
