  1. I got that Case Puma 190. got it from the States in the week. I will post up a pic of it if required.
  2. We will all be making these now and turning into 'ranchers'. Next we will be basket weaving.
  3. Seems to be the U.S Ertl box but Mr Millar should know if it's a 'dealer' box so I would'nt dispute it. Probably worth getting hold of an example as I would think not too many will come over here. \ I have just bought 2 of them so when they turn up I will post up a 'revue'.
  4. Don't forget to cuprinol or creosote them! Seriously, stain them a darker brown or green would really finish them off, don't you think? Excellent idea, cheap and very effective.
  5. Well, seeing it's a Ferguson day I would say it would present an opportunity, as for how many, I would take a half dozen or so and see Mike Thorne about putting you in a corner of the shed where the inside stalls will be. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
  6. Marky. Could you or anyone else bring some more? Mate of mine is looking for one and you may be able to sell some.
  7. Little difficult to tell but the bonnet on this Fendt looks very similar to the 500 series Fergies, perhaps similar enough. \
  8. Forgot to mention that David Brown 'Power Red' is exactly the same colour.
  9. mjb1. It's been a few years since I went to Mikes open days, only 14 miles from me but I do recall that he does have, or did have a few yellow highway/council Fergies. I know that he has a yellow T20 but not certain about later ones.
  10. Rover Vermilion Red is about the closest that I have found. Remember though that the majority of Britain's implements were a dull finish and not shiny, more of a matt finish. Hope that is helpful.
  11. Found a good source for tractor model decals and you can print them off. (I did'nt say that). http://shop.bossenimp.com/DECALS_FOR_MODELS_AND_TOYS_C8.cfm
  12. Is there no GPS systems down that far yet Mandy? Next time take a ball of string, let it out as you are going then it's easy to find your way back.
  13. Been to a sale just out the road. Load of Grey Fergy stuff. T20 diesel unrestored, running, made ?1,500. 1952 T20 P/TVO, unrestored, running, ?1,450. straight petrol T20, unrestored, running, ?550. The most interesting item that everyone wanted was the rare Ferguson rear 'crane', had all the plates on it, instruction and serial, went for a whopping ?1,200. I'll post up some pics later in a seperate post. I bought a box of 'mixed toys' for ?16. Fair bit of good Britain's amongst it, well worth it. Few pics later.
  14. The cabbage idea looks the part, smart thinking there. I presume that you will spray them green, they look a little anaemic at the moment. You will also have to find something to represent catepillars, all cabbages have catepillars. The roller door idea, realy smart. I think that I saw somewhere that you can find table mats that are thin narrow strips of wood that has a cotton fabric stuck on one side and roll up for storage, that would work as well, just a thought.
  15. In the pic on the first posting the hitch is not complete. in the middle you will see that there is a sort of ball-joint, there should be another triangular sort of arm that extends back to hitch the chain to the trailer or implement. There is a pic of this unit in one of the later MF books, I will see if I can scan it and post it up. Found it. This is an earlier one on the back of a 178 hitched to a set of discs. Not a very good pic but you will get the general idea.
  16. I think it is a pressure control hitch. These units were atached on the 3pt linkage with a chain underneath the trailer drawbar, when the tractor started to struggle pulling the trailer, like up-hill or across soft ground, you opperated it by raising the hydraulic lever which raised the drawbar of the trailer by means of the chain to take the weight off the back of the tractor. Thats the principle anyway. I believe that Ferguson were the only tractor manufacturer to do this as all the ones I have come across are Fergy made.
  17. The date of the Massey land-drive spreader is about right as I think the MF tri-logo came after about 1958 when they dropped the Massey-Harris name. As regards the daily output of these spreaders I suppose it depended on how fast you worked and how much dung the loader fork would hold. We had one of these spreaders around 1971 and it was nothing but a load of trouble, especially if you were spreading fairly compacted straw dung that had been in the shed all winter and was relatively fresh, we spent more time unloading the damn thing with a four-prong by hand as the bed chain would be constantly breaking. This spreader was intended for spreading dung that was well rotted and more loose and would work a treat if it was hand loaded and not piled up too much. One thing you did have to be careful of though, was not to have any stones, bricks or concrete blocks in it as these hard objects would always be flung forward and would give you a fair crack on the head, in fact there was an instance reported in a Farmers Weekly in the 1960's of a chap being killed by being clouted on the head by a stone in this way. Nasty.
  18. In my communication with the former owner I mentioned the Forum so I hope that he will 'tune in' and read our comments and perhaps even reply to them.
  19. If there is enough interest in it, maybe it will come back with the original owner but under a different title, that would probably be the only way of ressurecting it without having to go through legalities of ownership and copyright but I am no expert on this by any imagination, we will have to wait and see.
  20. This publication for the moment may be dead but it has certainly not been buried and forgotten. I have been in contact with Roger Smith from Old Pond and he has told me that they have been having great difficulty in making any contact with the 'new owner', Julian Bowden to accertain whether or not it will be resurected in the future. I have asked Roger to keep in contact and keep me informed of the situation. When I know anything I will let you all know.
  21. Looks like the greeneye. Should have a pair of cats eyes on the top and the rear of the box.
  22. Will everyone who has the new 5000 please have a closer look, an eagle eyed mate of mine has told me that on some of them the engine oil filter is not painted white. ?
