  1. One inch is 25.4mm. That means 2.54mm is about 1/16th of an inch so I presume that when you are measuring to scale you have to reduce measurment by a division of 32 for a 1/32nd outcome. \
  2. According to the press the new Britain's Ford tractors are due to be released in late June.
  3. If you have erected fencing in competition then perhaps I'm trying to teach Granny to suck eggs. I know that in different areas there are different methods, down here there is so much rock in the ground that you have to place the struts and the stakes for that matter wherever you gan get them in. I do know that if you do put the struts in too steep an angle, when you strain the wire, the corner stake or post has a tendency to lift out of the ground
  4. FW, don't want to be critical mate but your corner post struts for the fence need to be a bit higher, just under the top strand of wire and notched into the upright and put in the 'ground' halfway to the adjacent post. Went to college years ago to learn that! You've given everyone big ideas now.
  5. Good link that one and usefull as well. Nice one. I've just downloaded it, took 6 seconds, I'll have a go at it when I've a bit of time.
  6. They brought out a Cow Valtra, could be a Sheep Lambourghini.
  7. Yellow paint. Oh, and some 1mm plasticard and a matchstick for the posts that fit inside the corners to keep it in place. ;)
  8. Brian Norman does the mirrors but they are grey plastic and when you fit them they are very easily broken, care taken when fitting.
  9. Scamp has asked me to post this Vicon trailed fertaliser spreader that he has made a top cover for. Nice job Scamp, I want one.
  10. Keep an eye on the Ebay listings of tractor parts, bits, spares, scrapyard, wheels etc and you will get a good idea. I know that some Britain's parts will make more than complete tractors and implements as there seems to be a lot of people that buy these parts for re-builds and conversions.
  11. Rotovated the garden (1/8th acre) three times, picked up any loose turf and tilled six rows of spuds. Took most of the day to do all that!
  12. The Claas 836 RZ is a common model, nor rare at all, I can get them from a local Claas dealership in a Claas box for around ?13. Just because the seller has'nt seen many does'nt mean it's rare, me thinks these people should get out more.
  13. Don't use a cellulose based primer or paint on plastic or it will melt, you won't drool over your tractor, your tractor will drool over you!
  14. Most of the stuff is coloured plastic nowadays, cheaper to produce and with modern injection moulding methods cheaper to produce and paint gives off fumes so health and saftey plays a big part in it. They don't make 'em like they used to!! :
  15. Thinking a bit more, none of the toy makers used an undercoat.
  16. It may be the combination of paints. What primer did you use? What top-coat did you use? If the primer contains a cellulose base you have to let it cure for about an hour. If the primer has not cured, when you apply a top-coat the primer will react and 'wrinkle'. The common cause of this type of 'reaction' is using paints with different 'bases'. You can spray a cellulose primer and use an oil based top-coat but if you use an oil based primer you can't use a cellulose top-coat as this last combination will cause the reaction. In my experience, it is the original paint that the model was finished in that causes the reaction as it will soften and shrink when applying another finish despite priming, The best thing to do is to remove all the original paint from the start. I use an automotive grey primer and for the top-coat an acrylic formulated paint (Plasti-Kote or Hycote) these can be used in conjunction with cellulose based paints. Hope this helps. Oh forgot to say, you will have to strip what you've done to get it right. :'(
  17. It is obviously a 'motorised' tractor and is probably made after 1947 as this is when the name 'Crescent' was cast into the models or on the wheels when they opened the factory in Wales. Have a look at the one I posted in 'rarer tractors' and you will see the similarity, yours may not be any specific model as in the catalogues I have some of the early tractors from Crescent were described as just that, 'tractor', various colours. Hope this helps a tiny bit. Nice find.
  18. Sorry mate, did'nt come on till late. According to the 'records' it was made in 1968 but was released in 1969.
  19. I can now give you all the details about this trailer. Title: Animal Trailer With Cow. Catalogue Number: 9568. Window Box. 1968. Blue/Grey/Red/Light Brown. 1968 To 1970. Grey floor with centre peg for fitting plastic recumbent cow. The cow was the same design as used in the lead series. Second one: Same as first one but with offset hole in floor for fixing revised cow with a self-tapping screw. 1970 to 73. Third one: As the second one but with white floor. 1973.
  20. If you visit the site often enough you very often see these items listed time and time again despite them apparently 'selling'. I do not want to lay any allegations but some items are 'run'. For example, one item I observed was listed as 'The only one I have left, very rare'. At the same time there was the identicle item listed 20 miles away from the first under a different seller name. Comparing these two listings the descriptions were almost word for word identicle, in fact, I found out that this guy had two of these items and he listed them on different computers. This is just an example but I know that it does go on and what is to stop their mates bidding items up, you will never know if it actually sold or no, especially if it is not re-listed for a number of months. I am like the proverbial elephant, I never forget. Another time I found it happening again, on this occasion I 'asked the seller' the same question (on both items) and the answer I got back was exactly the same on both, Point proven. You are of course quite correct in saying that research of the price of models is important, it's called research. At the end of the day however, the old addage is, 'you pays the price and takes your chance'.
  21. Yes, I was aware that Brian did a set of decals for this one but I am going to wait until the next Toytrac at Wincanton as I usually buy quite a lot of bits from him when I need a fair amount. As for the cab glazing I may find something at the next local toyfair next Sunday week.
  22. This magazine seems to have gone to the dogs. Just looked in the current issue, 11 and in the back for the next issue it just says 'Spring 2007', no pub date or nothing. Also just tried the web-site, all that came up was some link page advertising rubbish magazines, no mention of F&S whatsoever. The Editors phone number is a mobile. What a shame, I thought this publication would go places as it started off so well. :'( :'( :'(
  23. Serial number on mine is 3618. Bought it August 26th 2006.
  24. I hav'nt heard anything about this at all. My eldest nephew is a fitter for a local Claas dealership and he gets me all Claas models in the dealer boxes as soon as they come out, including this Xerion and he has'nt mentioned anything. I always leave my models wired down in their boxes so I can't say what, if any fault could be on the axle. Mine is one of the very first as the dealers usually get theirs in the OEM boxes before the general public. It might be prudent to hang on to these early ones, faults and all, as they could be the valuable ones in the not too distant future. \
