Tractorman810
for smal ones i just use polly filler, the pre mixed tube stuff, jst put it down where you want, takes a while to go off mind that think, any bigger, i would say use mesh and paper mache or woodern batterns shapped round on the edges then cover with scatter or hanging basket moss

fordmajor
Mod rock over a former. Mod rock is a bandage soaked in pollyfilla, put on dry paint on water / or put on wet [ got some but have not tried to use yet]

Fendthead
Have a look into the world of train sets, those guys do loads of this sorta thing.I have had a go, built a layout for a member of the family. The bandage covered in plaster is great stuff, if you want to build large landscape start with crushed up newspaper, wood, or wire etc to get the hight and basic shape, then get going with the bandage, there is no limit to what you can do in a short time, it drys fast then just get painting or what ever you have in mind.
