Fordson Super Major 1/16 New Performance

At Zwolle there was a preview of the coming Fordson Super Major. UH number 2780. It is a New Performance model with grey wheels and mudguards.

No a lot of other differences compared to the Power Major.

This is what I found:

- grey wheels and mudguards

- different badge on front cowling and on the bonnet

- headlights inside the grille.

Hopefully a revised rear linkage with depth control look.

Maybe until the official launch they will get the correct fuel pump mounted (should be Simms with mechanical governor). And the housing of the headlights also in grey.

Jack.

Hi do you think its worth buying ? I have always collected 1/32 scale but I like the look of these 1/16 UH models and was thinking of buying some of them and starting a new scale collection, I would appreciate your thoughts on this thanks

it totally depends on what you like and how much room you have for show. If i was a precisionlike collector, than the UH 1:16 models would certainly be in my collection. also if you collect only one brand, (Ford for instance) than a little side step to these amazing detailed models would not be wrong. However they take a lot of space!

Also there are 1:16 precisions from ERTL and G&M farmmodels make great models in 1:16 scale in limited numbers that are certainly a marvel to look at.

have to say mike i always left alone with the 16ths, but after buying marks 35x indy, i have bought a few more, inc the 1250 when its ready, well worth the money i recon, but lot more difficult to store given the size of them, tend to stay to one brand ,that way i cant go as silly as the 32nd collection

I don't really like to 'nit-pick' at these models as they are as good as you can get for what they are and at the price but this Fordson seems to have too dark seat cushions, they should be pale blue with white piping. The drawbar appears to be at an angle as well. Also, for the level of detail, sould'nt they have rear lights as well as sidelights on the mudguards? Should they be on the later steel front wheels as well or the earlier 'spoke' type'?

Just aquired one of these and I must say that it is a terrific model, better I think than the previous versions. The model does have sidelights both front and rear on the mudguards and unlike the two Super 4's, does have a drawbar. Debateable wheather it's worth the £45.  :-\
